The solar charger should be charged completely before leaving the house but once charged it charged my IPhone 4s 3 times to 100%. I tried to charge other devices in the sun as a solar charger but the charger itself kept shutting off. If you leave it out long enough the charger will charge itself but with nothing attached to it.
