## Description

Whether this is your first time using epoxy resin or you're a professional maker, TotalBoat TableTop epoxy kits make it easy and simple to create gorgeous, crystal clear projects. Use this 2-part epoxy resin to add protective, glass-like coatings to bar tops, table tops, counters, kitchen islands, bathroom vanities, and other furniture. Or get creative with resin molds, embedded objects, glitter, mica pigments, alcohol inks, and other epoxy colorants to personalize your work. You can even recoat and build layers to create river tables and larger artwork. Totalboat clear epoxy resin is a breeze to use, with a simple 1:1 ratio for measuring, easy pour viscosity, and self-leveling for a smooth finish. Our countertop epoxy cures at room temperature and creates a hard, glossy surface that resists impact shock, scratches, color discoloration, and heat. UV stabilizers and a slight blue tint help the epoxy retain its clarity without yellowing over time. 100% waterproof and BPA free, this epoxy resin can be safely used in the home or in food service settings on bars, countertops, and high top tables. Bonds well with wood, metal, concrete, granite, and vinyl. For woodworkers, this table top epoxy seals and enhances live-edge slab tables, benches, desktops, and other woodworking projects. Can even be used as a wood sealer to strengthen porous wood. For resin artists & makers, use TotalBoat epoxy to make coasters, trays, floral displays, jewelry, keychains, and DIY resin art. While the clear epoxy formula is not UV resistant, TotalBoat Halcyon Varnish or similar finishes can be applied for long-term outdoor protection. Compare this epoxy resin kit to other art and table top epoxy systems such as East Coast Resin, Superclear Table Top Epoxy, Promise Epoxy, Stonecoat Countertop Epoxy, Art Resin, Beast Bond, KISREL, Let's Resin, MAS Table Top Pro Epoxy, and Ecopoxy. In extensive testing, our epoxy met or exceeded all similar products on the market. All TotalBoat products are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Review: Nicely Coated Live Edge Bar Top - I checked out all the different products, read reviews and selected TotalBoat Clear. I was very happy with the outcome. This was the first time I tried an epoxy. My project was a live edge slab of walnut for a bar top between a kitchen and living room. I watched several you-tube videos but was still very nervous about starting my project. I fixed up a room that could be all mine for my project for awhile, knowing it might take me longer than those videos! I had a large hole to fill and thick bark that I needed coated (so no one would pick at it!). I knew small mixes at a time would be best. I taped a piece of plastic under the hole so the epoxy would not run through it. I would always place my epoxy in front of a heater first to warm while I got my gloves and things ready. I started by using small plastic condiment or jello shot cups to measure and put into a plastic cup to stir. I always put the thick part in the mixing cup first, then the thin part on top and stirred in front of the heater for 5 minutes. I first tried the 10 minutes that I saw recommended a couple times in reviews, but that was over-kill. I found it was harder to work on the surface and made my wrist sore! For the hole being about 1 1/2 inches, I probably used 4 fills before I did the hole surface. At the same time that I was filling the hole, I also poured over the bark since it was really rough. I used a brush to get it in the grooves. The blow torch is important - and cool! But what I learned was to go back and look again after you think you got it all. Bubbles seem to work their way up out of nowhere, and I missed some the first go around. Doesn't hurt to fire up the blow torch again! The reviews I saw showed people putting dust covers over the project, but if you do that, you might do it too soon and not see the bubbles. Use a toothpick to get any dust out of the surface. I also learned to continually go back and scrape the drips underneath, and here was how I was trying to get the epoxy up into the bark edge from underneath. So I didn't use a dust cover, I just closed the door and didn't let anyone in! I did make a mistake by sanding the bubbles I missed. It left the fine residue in the pits. I tried to vacuum and blow out the sanded particles, then I tried to pick them out with a pin, but I couldn't get it all out. Made me sick, but they are very small and most people might not notice. So I stress for you to keep checking on your project for the 1st hour or so and use the torch! After the top was complete, I could feel a small area with a bit of a rough edge underneath, and the last thing I wanted was someone trying to pull the bark apart from underneath. So I flipped the top over and made up one last small batch and smoothed out the edge on the bottom. I am thrilled with the bar top. It was a bit of work, but was well worth it. This product mixed well and is a nice hard clear coating.
Review: Best re-do/fix/protect my coffee table top for good - After watching 2 different YouTube videos of how to use 2 part epoxy to fix my 20+ year custom made coffee table and found this product after my research, I am very pleased with the outcome. It was not hard to use, but it required lots of prep work. It was getting the measurement and then calculating how much each part (A & B) that I needed to use to mix the product. That’s why I googled and watched videos. Anyway, my coffee table now looks better than when I brought it new. It looks like it has a clear thick layer of customer made plastic/wax shine and smooth (like bar countertop.) I don’t even need to do a second layer. Oh don’t forget to get Flexible Resin Spreaders - V-NOTCHED EDGE spreads the resin the best. Hint: I only found out recently. In between layers, I was told I can add pictures, sprinkles, anything to make the table top interesting and protected from wear and tear and waterproof.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it a good adhesive for joining wood?**
A: This is not the product for joining wood, you would want to use a regular epoxy and add some fillers.

**Q: What do you use to thin this?**
A: This is not designed to be thinned, it is a 1:1 mix ratio.

**Q: I want to end up with a 1/4 inch thick surface. I'm reading that I should pour in 2 batches? Are there any caveats for multiple pours?**
A: I believe the product says to do the second pour around 4 hours. I waited 3 days to do my second pour with a very light sanding of 320 grit and a good cleaning/wipe down before the second pour. The sanding did not gouge the first layer or cause any imperfections. With my second pour I only got about 1/8 of an inch. I think you might have to dam up your project if you're looking for 1/4 inch. Good luck...

**Q: Can I pour this into a mold up to 1 1/2" thick at one time?**
A: Yes you can, but be sure you thoroughly mix the two parts together. If you do, you will have no problem. I would add, that if you pour the mix into a mold that is narrow and tall, like the graphite shaft of a golf club (something I did) you will develop noticeable heat which accelerates the cure, you can reduce the hardener to less than 1-1.
Also, on thick pours, you will want to watch the mixture for the first hour and use a heat source to eliminate bubbles coming to the surface. Mix thoroughly but mix slowly and smoothly to avoid creating excess bubbles.
