Perfect beach bag, especially lightweight and packable for air travel.
This bag worked wonderfully as a beach bag for our recent Florida trip. It is very lightweight and folds very compactly for traveling in a suitcase. Once expanded it is large! There are so many pockets for organization, and the wet pocket in the back is a huge plus if using as a beach bag. I was worried about the shoulder straps not being padded, but they ended up being quite comfortable! The shoulder straps are wide, and with the addition of the chest strap, I had zero problems loading this bag up and carrying it comfortably. This bag is absolute perfection in every way for what we needed it for. It's durable, too, and I know we will be using this for many years for our travel needs. I also think it would work well as a carry-on or personal item for plane travel unless you are carrying a laptop. There is no padded sleeve for protection, but since we were mainly using it as a beach bag, this was not a concern for us. Very happy with this bag!

Perfect travel backpack
This backpack folds up easily. Perfect for excursions on a cruise. Lightweight and roomy enough for a towel, sunscreen, water, change of clothes and lots of pockets for your other items. Good quality. Well worth money.

Water resistant, packable backpack with bottle holders and multiple pockets.
I love that I can fold this backpack for traveling, day trips, etc. The material is heavy enough without adding extra weight. Love the water bottle holders, multiple pockets, and especially the waterproof pocket (note size in the product pictures, this is not a big pocket).

Great backpack but straps loosen
—I purchased this backpack for a month long travel through the South Pacific and used it as my personal item on the plane, where it very easily fit under the seat. —It had several compartments that helped me organize my many belongings, including compartments for cash, credit cards, pens, and wet items. —The backpack seams, straps, and zippers held up well to the 8 to 10 lbs I carried in the backpack —The backpack was a vibrant color and had reflectors. —The only complaint I have is that the straps would loosen over time. The only solution for this would be to stitch them so they don’t loosen, but I do not have a sewing machine and don’t want to pay a seamstress $20 to stitch them up. Hence my four star rating.

Great Travel backpack
I have used this backpack on a couple of trips so far, and it has been very good. I feel like it’s the right size. It holds a lot. And it has just the right amount of pockets. Several of them are zipper pockets, which is great for passports, foreign currency, etc. The straps are good too. I like that there is a strap that goes across my chest when I am wearing the backpack. It keeps it from slipping. There is a small strap for the side pockets that hold water bottles, which comes in quite handy. I feel like this is engineered quite well. I purchased the orange one, and am very happy with it.

Beautiful backpack - sturdy material and excellent features!
I love this lightweight backpack in light blue! It is a beautiful aqua color. The ripstop fabric seems very sturdy. I think that this backpack is perfect for a woman of average height, but may not work as well for a tall man or woman. It's actually not that large. I have a G4Free 40L backpack of similar design from several years ago and this 35L backpack is about one inch narrower at the bottom. If you can use it as a travel bag, that's great, but I'd find it a bit small for that. As a daypack for hiking it's perfect, though. Numerous features including many pockets and a front clip with whistle. The plastic lined zipped compartment is on the back of the backpack and it's fairly large - almost the full length of the backpack. This backpack is a bit heavier than my previous one (480 gm versus 314 gm), and it also has a bit more stiffness and rigidity to it. I'd be hesitant to fold it into the pouch for fear that the plastic in lined pocket would degrade over time. I just received it, so I haven't tested it out, but I'm really pleased with it so far! My old G4Free backpack is still going strong, but the fabric has gotten worn over time and it has two small tears that I covered with clear nail polish. It doesn't help that I've brought it to the beach and filled it with rocks and shells.... See my photo for comparison of 40L backpack vs this 35L backpack. As you can see, the 35L backpack is considerably larger when folded into the front pocket that becomes the backpack storage sack. The logo on the 35L is sewn on rather than printed on as it is on the 40L model. If you were to examine these two backpacks side by side as I have done, you’d most likely agree that the 35L model has far superior construction. The selling features of the 40L are the smaller size for packing when folded, less weight and larger capacity. Both have same comfortable shoulder straps. Personally I believe that the 35L model is much more attractive and appears to be sturdier.

Best backack I've ever had
We put it through the paces- camping, hauling stuff to and from work, carrying everyone's stuff through amusement parks and festivals- and it has been perfect. I have a history of overstuffing backpacks and this backpack has high quality zippers, well sewn straps, deep pockets with interior zip pockets, and the two waterbottle pockets actually fit real world water bottles. I am now buying a second one for my kid who does Scouting America. She'll put it through the paces too. When someone spilled a red drink on my backpack at the last amusement park, I didn't realize it for a few hours because the liquid was still just sitting on top of the fabric- it hadn't seeped through even after all that time. It could use more padding in the straps I suppose but that is the only thing I can think of that might make it better. This backpack is fantastic, especially for the price. When it first arrived, I thought perhaps it qould be short-lived because it is so light, but it has held up very well.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My Go-To Bag for Parks & Travel – Still Going Strong After 3 Years!
I can’t say enough good things about the G4Free 40L Lightweight Packable Hiking Backpack! I originally bought it for hiking, but over time it’s become my go-to bag for theme parks, weekend trips, Cheer Comps, and everyday adventures. I loved the light blue floral pattern. It reflects the sun and helps keep my back cooler in the hot Florida sun Here’s why I keep coming back to it: ✅ Incredibly Durable – I’ve had this backpack for over 3 years, and aside from a little dirt, it’s still in amazing shape—no rips, no tears, and all the zippers still work perfectly. That’s saying a lot given how much I’ve used it. ✅ Lightweight & Comfortable – Even when fully packed, it’s easy on the shoulders. The adjustable straps and chest buckle help distribute weight well for all-day wear. ✅ Perfect for Travel – It folds into a compact pouch, which makes it a breeze to pack in a suitcase. I always bring it as my extra bag when traveling, and it’s saved me more than once! ✅ Park Essential – For theme park days, this bag is a lifesaver. It holds water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, ponchos, souvenirs—you name it—without feeling bulky. ✅ Spacious but Organized – The 40L capacity is generous, but the smart pocket layout helps me keep everything in its place. ✅ Water-Resistant & Tough – It’s handled light rain and rough terrain without a problem. For the price, the value is unbeatable. Whether you’re hiking, traveling, or just need a reliable daypack, this bag delivers. I’m seriously impressed by how well it’s held up over the years—and I don’t plan on replacing it anytime soon! I loved it so much I bought one for my sister.

Orange is the new Back Pack Color
This is a great little back pack. It is not a heavy bag to weigh down your shoulders and give you back pain at all. It is water proof, something I need here in Canada. It has multiple pockets that work well, and hold all the things I need to carry with me. Emergency supplies, a card wallet, paper towels and Kleenex for those wet seats on the Metro !! The straps are not a bulky affair and have a chest attach strap for weight moderation.
