It looked just like the worn-out one that had a slow leek in my bathroom and it was very easy for me to swap it out for the new one. So far it’s working perfectly! Review: Perfect fit for my toilet...the universal ones don't work on my toilet. - American Standard has made many different toilets that use different flappers. On many of these toilets, the universal flapper does not work reliably. Even though, they look very similar, they are not exactly the same. I had to do some research to find this. First, I had to configure out my toilet model. It is stamped inside the tank, but hard to read. And you have to figure out which characters are actually the model number. Then I had to search for the one that fits my toilet. American Standard does not offer it anymore. I called them up and they found the number on desertcart for me. It is really a pain. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flapper seals well, but lever hook design is bad *by J***. on October 24, 2021* Like others have said, the standard universal flapper you get off the shelf in a hardware store did not work with my particular American Standard toilet, much to my surprise. So, I looked up the parts list for my model toilet and decided to give the OEM flapper a try. It seals great...no leaking into bowl, but I found out that every so often, the flapper chain makes a wild flip during a flush, and one of the chain loops gets hung up on the hook at the end of the flapper chain, thereby leaving the flapper open over the hole. Its just a bad design of the end hook. I replaced that hook with one I had on hand that came from an old Korky flapper and now the problem is eliminated. This is way overpriced too.
