Downtown Parka

I just ordered this coat on sale- in preparation for a trip to WA in December. Being from a part of Texas where we don’t need a heavy coat such as this, Let me say I’m very experienced at purchasing coats. I wanted waterproof and warm and this seems to fit the bill. I compared the Downtown Parka to the Arctic II - as they seem very similar. Decided on the Downtown due to other reviews saying the Arctic was tight in the shoulder/bust area. I’m 5’7” 140lbs 36B, and purchased a medium. Length is perfect- not too short or too long. It’s quite roomy, but not too big. I did the self hug/ stretch tests with a Better Sweater underneath and it didn’t feel restricting at all. I think a small would have been too small through the shoulders, but possibly would have a cuter fit through the body. The bungee cord does help define the waist area somewhat, but it’s still pretty puffy through the middle. I want to be warm and comfortable, not bound up wearing a coat all day, so I’m going to stick with the medium.

I really like the style of the front pockets and how different they look, and the inner cuff on the sleeve that keeps cold air out. It has enough room to layer underneath which is great too!The only very minor complaint I have is that the inner wrist cuffs could be a bit longer, and I wish they had thumb holes. I noticed them riding up a bit when I picked my son up which was a bit annoying, but not a major issue.

I absolutely love this cost!! I was so surprised when I opened the package, this coat is way nicer than the picture shows!! From the pics the coat fabric looks like it’s more like a crunchy wrinkly fabric... the pics don’t do this coat justice!! It has the perfect amount of down filling!! I really was taken back by how well this coat was made. Great product and not to mention it’s warm!! If you get cold in this coat, then there’s a problem 😉I’m so so glad I ordered it....

I love this North Face coat. This coat will keep you really warm when it is extremely cold outside. This coat is durable. This is the second coat I bought from North Face, the first coat I bought was about six or seven years ago and I can continue to wear it. Their coats are of excellent quality and they keep you really warm.

I order the large and it was a little too big but I believe it’s ok. I don’t give it the 5 starts because I’m not sure about the quality, doesn’t seem like the north face jackets I had before, looks a little cheaper

Perfect for the coldest of days and still light enough to have full unincumbered range of motion.

great coat! bought for midwest winters; it’s heavy, wind proof, and will keep you VERY warm. a littleeee hard to move in but it’s not restricting, just a little stiff (i might need to break it in a little). just like the other reviews say, it runs big, so definitely size down! you’ll still be able to wear sweaters underneath, don’t worry.

Very good quality jacket, looks boxy so a little unflattering. Light and warm for winter.

Very beautiful winter jacket though pricey.For people complaining about the knot,it is adjustable bybopening the zipper in the 2 pockets,this is so stylish so that the ropes are not seen.One of my best investment pieces,its light weight and warm too
