Great coffee from Peru!
Their coffee from Peru is outstanding! Arrived well packaged and fresh. It has a good medium roast and the flavor is excellent. This is a great value for an under rated coffee.

Rich and Full but not burnt
All Peruvian coffee that had a good grow season is usually very good. This coffee is rich, medium and smooth with a nice rich morning flavor that you will want everyday. Bot cold and hot has a nice bouquet. Do not grind to fine or your pot may turn a little bitter .. use a burr grinder on medium.

Decent Cup - Nothing Spectacular
Pretty decent cup is what this makes. A very average cup of ordinary coffee. There aren't any sparkling notes or flavors that pop through. It isn't roasted to death which is what I enjoy most about FRC varieties in general, though this bag did seem rather stale. Very little if any degassing occurred when brewing - the ground just seemed a bit lifeless as is the case for most beans that've gone a bit stale. Not sure why - the roasted-date wasn't too far in the past judging form the Julian date code (that's how FRC stamps them) on the bottom of the bag, but it seemed a little stale nonetheless. We've had this problem with their beans in the past and a couple of times they've sent our replacements, but overall their customer service is rather erratic. They'll respond within a day or two sometimes, and yet I've had some emails just be ignored and so I do not order directly from their site as I once did for a couple of years, relying instead on Amazon's customer service if something goes wrong. I've just accepted that these beans aren't an enormous value (though it certainly was 3the case early on, about 4 years ago) any longer, all things considered. But these, and other varieties are definitely a decent value for the price. The Tanzanian Peaberry is generally good (though we've had some off batches of it as well), and the Bali Blue Moon (arguably their most popular single-origin) is probably the most consistent. I've received (directly) a few bags of more obscure, small batch beans from them in the past, a couple of which were *outstanding*, but it just isn't worth the dice-roll for those. I only hope their popular varieties remain of good quality. We'll pass on these next time, but the other mentioned are still go-to staples for our morning joe.

Great coffee beans not oily
I purchased both Peruvian and Brazilian Minas Gerias. These are not oily beans and works well in my Gaggia all in one coffee brewer. I think the lighter roasts pack more caffeine as caffeine is heat labile. Darker roasts are stronger flavor but lose the punch. I have two flat whites every AM and I’m ready for the day. I will try their other roasted beans for sure. I bought the dark Columbia beans and it tastes very good too. The beans aren’t oily to me. They have a dull pearl appearance and it’s not like other oily beans I’ve seen. It grinds fine and I don’t see any residue in the coffee bin or clumps at the grinder opening.

Solid coffee. Not spectacular but better than a lot of others that cost much more.
Good for the money

Addicting
The first bag I received was damaged but they refunded it fully. I bought another bag and was really blown away with the taste! It’s addicting. I think this is going to be my new staple coffee.

Stale.
I had high hopes for this, as I have never tasted Peruvian coffee. It was almost a year out of date. I ground some and tried it anyway, using a scoop more than usual based on prior reviews. I'm guessing it will take a total of three extra scoops to get it to the desired medium strength, as it appears to be a medium-light coffee. This is disheartening because I can almost taste what this coffee could be without that lingering stale element, and it is an incredible flavor profile. It doesn't help that the coffee comes loose in a bag. Coffee's worst enemies are light, air, and moisture. If it's been sitting in air for almost a year, it's no wonder it tastes so old.
