From geckos to iguanas, komodo dragons to chameleons, lizards are about the most awesome animal around! They inhabit every continent except Antarctica. Some are lethal. Some change color. Some have suction cups on their feet. There is enough fascinating information about these animals to fill an entire library of readers! But we've taken the absolute coolest information about the coolest animal and compacted it in this fascinating level 2 reader, perfect for anyone who loves slippery, slimy, creepy, and crawly. This high-interest, educationally vetted series of beginning readers features the magnificent images of National Geographic, accompanied by texts written by experienced, skilled children's book authors. The inside back cover of the paperback edition is an interactive feature based upon the book. Level 1 books reinforce the content of the book with a kinesthetic learning activity. In Level 2 books readers complete a Cloze letter, or fun fill-in, with vocabulary words. National Geographic supports K-12 educators with ELA Common Core Resources. These books teach them so much and keep their interest. We bought this book to go with the wild republic lizard set for our 4 year olds birthday. He was so excited to play with the lizards and learn more about them. It kept him busy during our hour long trip to the zoo and he wanted to see the reptile house right away. Definitely recommend. Review: Beautiful book - Absolutely the best book for kids; Full color pictures and easy to read. My grandson loved it.

Great for nature loving kids
My son is 4 and loves these books, even though he’s not reading by himself yet. He loves animals so we have quite a few of these. Can’t wait until he’s able to start reading them on his own so he’ll love them even more!

Great Book to Get If You Like Lizards
This was a colorful, short book about lizards. I wish it was a little longer. My 7 year old read through it very quickly, but learned a few new things. She really enjoyed it and I thought it was priced appropriately.

Best XMAS Present Ever!
Bought Nat Geo Lizards magazine for 5 year old grandson's XMAS present along with a 26" long stuffed iguana lizard. He was DELIGHTED! Everything stopped and we had to read this magazine. It is made of glossy, high-quality paper with stellar photos that one would expect from Nat Geo, with very interesting facts & info on all types of worldwide lizards. It is written so that a 5 year old can understand. The photos grabbed the attention of the 2 year old, and the 7 year old was also highly interested. The 5 year old can't read yet, but the 7 year old could read the magazine. At the end of the magazine there is a fun match-up game plus 'who's scales are these' game. All the answers are contained throughout the magazine. I highly recommed Nat Geo's Lizard magazine for young gradeschoolers.

National Geographic, how good is it?
Papa, National Geographic or something really different for a child. I didn’t expect this kid to be really, really happy with the book

Perfect for Early Readers
The National Geographic Readers are perfect for Early Readers. My son loves animals and facts about animals more than fairytales and fiction books. These books are perfect for boys who want to know more about creatures and insects. I've ordered 5 or 6 and each NG Reader was well done and accurate. The 4 for 3 promotion makes them a good bit cheaper than buying retail, also. He likes lizards so this was perfect for him.

Informative
Bought this for my 5 year old goddaughter, who is a huge fan of crawling, slithering creatures of all varieties. She was immediately absorbed and absolutely loved this. It’s packed with interesting facts and detailed colour photographs, ideal for the inquiring minds of future naturalists and scientists. Lovely little book and fairly priced.
