GOOD PRODUCT UNTIL YOU WILL UPGRADE FIRMWARE VERSION. This product comes with firmware version 3.0.2. after you will power on the product for the first time it will ask you to upgrade firmware version to available updated version (as of now it is 3.0.3). Do not upgrade to 3.0.3 as this device doesn't work after update firmware version to 3.0.3. To u may see many people complaining abot device automatic reboot issue, this all issues reported for this item are related to firmware version only. Don't upgrade firmware to 3.0.3 as that is a malfunction version for this product. Turn-off auto upgrade from firmware update setting.

2.4 GHz signal is strong enough to cover all nooks and corners of my 3 BHK apartment. It reaches even up to ground floor whereas my flat is at third floor. 5 GHz signal is strong only within 15-20 feet circle and Signal drops significantly beyond this range. 5GHz signal of my neighbour having other brand router is stronger even in my flat. Configuration is a bit difficult and very few help videos are available on YouTube. No app base support available. Speed is better in 5 GHz as compared to 2.4 GHz (checked with fast.com and speedtest.net). Some users have given feedback regarding automatic resetting of router. Although, I have not faced any such issue so far. However, my ISP has cautioned me that resetting of router is frequently encountered with DLink routers compared to other makes. Will update in future if I face this problem in future.

I see people writing random information and reviews about this router but i will say that this is one of the best routers in terms of customization and usability around Rs 2000. The first downside I see is range, if you many obstruction in way like from a room with 2 walls in between I get 50% signal which was about 80% with other router I have. Other down side is that you get 100mbps lan ports. Other than that the router is fantastic. Pros: >Can be used as a router or an access point. >Can do DNS and DHCP relays easily. >Setup DNS hosts and in the router itself, so you can have a small server running with router pointing to that IP. >Nice design

Very good wifi router for the money. Easy to configure in basic mode. For advanced users different mode is available. Please note only Wan port is gigabit and Lan ports are 100mbps. Signal strength: 2.4 ghz signal is very strong and if you placed the router centrally it will cover 3 bhk flat. 5 ghz signal will cover nearby rooms only. Connectivity speed is around 800 mbps in 5ghz and 300 mbps 2.4 ghz and beamforming is supported in both bands. Speedtest: Tested both 2.4/5 ghz with my 100 mbps Internet connection. Getting full bandwidth and no difference in ping for both bands. Ensure that your wifi receiver is at least 802.11n 150 mbps and above to get better speeds. Note: Faced issues with 5 ghz connectivity (wifi connected but no internet) after latest firmware update. You need to disable auto channel select in 5 ghz wifi settings and select 40/44 channel. Warranty: It seems this wifi router is supplied by Dlink Russia and firmware update site is also set as Russian dlink site. However, India warranty is valid as it is officially imported by Dlink India.

NEVER BUY D-LINK ROUTERS ANYMORE !!! READ THE FULL STORY BEFORE YOU REGRET ! I did purchase a D-Link DIR 841 router on 17.12.2021. But on 31.01.2022 both this router and this router's power adapter exploded, burned and tore down into pieces (see all screenshots). I tried D-Link's customer care and technical support number. Nobody there to answer. Then I chatted about this case with D-Link Ankita at dlinkindia on 31.01.2022 at 05:18pm IST. Ankita at dlinkindia suggested that I contact to D-Link service center in Pune. This is really bad. Not a single technical person to talk before purchase and after purchase. Service center (I Tech Care, Kothrud, Pune) examined the burned router and exploded power adapter. They also opened it to examine the internal parts of the router. The router was placed just 2 feet away on the desk. If I was working and this router along with its power adapter exploded and burned, it might caused serious injuries to me, even DEATH too! Also when the router and power adapter exploded and burned, the blue-white colored hazardous chemical spots spread on my laptop, desk and other devices. I heard that D-Link is a good brand of routers. So I purchased it hoping that everything will be fine. But didn't know that this DIR-841 router would explode. After this incident, I DO NOT suggest D-Link to anyone. I asked D-Link a refund or replacement. But they simply refused it. Purchasing D-Link DIR-841 router was the worst decision I have ever made :( NEVER BUY D-LINK ROUTERS ANYMORE !!!

The look is elegant and easy to install, its double band router with 4 towers dedicated two to 4g and 5g, the main reason i bought this was to get a better network signal in my room however it doesn't really solved my problem, signal remain poor , i was getting a better signal in my 5 year old D link router and wanted to even better signal and bought this one but it didn't helped.

Very good product. Am using 2 D-Link-825 in my office 1 DIR 825 & 1 DIR 841 for 2 different floors in my house . Well all 4 of them have been running almost for the past 2 years continuously & flawlessly. Both of these routers come around the same price so u can either settle for one , sometimes 841 performs a bit better , u won't probably notice it if you dont use multiple routers simultaneously.
