VetriScience Vetri Mega Probiotic

Two months ago my 10+ yo, large-breed Agility champion had an entire night of diarrhea & vomiting. Her last meal included some kibble from a new bag of the same food that she had been eating for years, which caused her problems (according to the manufacturer). Since none of my dogs had had diarrhea & vomiting for many years, I did not have a solution on hand. A friend recommended Vetri Mega Probiotic (VMP), & Amazon delivered it the next day. Right away, I switched this dog to a different kibble (one that she had eaten successfully in the past) & gave her VMP after each meal. Her bowels immediately returned to normal & have remained normal ever since. Yay! This success got me to thinking about another dog of mine who has had excess tartar on her teeth since puppyhood with no solution from the vet/PetSmile/other efforts. I decided to see whether VMP might help her. Within two weeks of taking VMP daily, her teeth had significantly less tartar build-up. Now -- one month into taking VMP -- her teeth are tartar-free. Yay again! I am impressed! VMP is a truly wonderful product, & I highly recommend it!

My dogs do really well on this , seems to balance their gut and keep stomach issues at bay. I sprinkle it on their food every morning.

High quality, effective

I switched to these because they had a larger variety of strains and a high colony forming unit. I just open the capsules and put them on my dogs and cat’s food. My only complaints are required refrigeration makes them easy to forget (not uncommon with probiotics though), the capsules aren’t very easy to open, and it’s difficult to measure 1/2 capsule for my cat which is her daily dosing.

Give it a try, it might be what you are looking for. I have waited almost a year before I gave a review just to make sure I believed in the product. So here is my backstory: I have a 3yo English bulldog who loves to live outside in Nebraska and has horrible skin issues. He naturally has a nasty yeasty smell. As a 1yo, we started him on depo shots because he chews his feet and gets hot spots. It helped some. By 2, it wasn't doing much, and he was getting face infections, so the vet put him on Apoquel. It was a game changer, his skin barely had a smell to it, and he seemed less itchy. Now, by this time, I was also bathing him twice a week with medicated shampoo, shaving him in the summer (to help air get to his skin better), and washing his face daily with medicated wipes. Things were going ok, but he had that rust colored fur on his face and feet, and had started chewing his feet again. The vet decided to give him depo shots as well, but they didn't seem to help much. We saw an ad for dog probiotics and I looked into ones that were for dogs with itchy skin. I chose this one, and I am extremely happy with it. The rust color is now totally gone from his face and feet, he has not chewed his feet since I put him on it. He did get a few small hot spots one time, but I hadn't given him a bath as soon as I should have. I only wash his face once in between bathing him and he has not gotten any face infections. He is still on the Apoquel, but I am not taking him off that after experiencing what he was like before. I can not attest to how every dog will react, but try it, and give it time, he didn't change overnight. It takes awhile for these probiotics to work. I have used several bottles now, I have noticed he gets a little diarrhea for a couple days about 2 weeks into a new bottle, or its a fluke that has happened 3 times now. I have definitely seen a difference in him and will continue using it. His skin is much happier and so is he.

My vet recommends VetriScience as a good product, and I like their probiotic capsules. Each of my 4 dogs (2 large, 2 small) gets 1 capsule every morning in a little lump of peanut butter. Yum. They think it's a treat. Easy and healthy.

My vet recommends a daily probiotic for my AmStaff's gut health. He's had a lot of problems with sensitive stomach and soft stools. The one I bought from my vet's didn't seem to be doing anything. After researching on ConsumerLab.com (a subscription-based website that collects studies on supplements for both people and animals), I decided to start him on this one. It's been just over a week, and already I've seen a change! The second day he was on it, he had a prodigious poop! Poops since then have been much firmer, and he seems to go much more easily and earlier in our walks. I'll have to try and notice whether he's scratching less. I had been sprinkling the contents of the old capsule over his food, and perhaps he wasn't eating it all. I give him this capsule 2x a day after his meal, in a Greenies pill pocket, and he now loves taking his pill. It's not a small capsule, so if your pet is very small or doesn't like taking pills, take that into consideration. (He also eats Annamaet Sensitive Skin & Stomach kibble almost entirely.)

If you are tired of paying high, overinflated prices for Proviable, either online or through vets offices, this brand is a great alternative. For less than a large 80 count Proviable, you get 180 count, which is huge if you are like us and have multiple furbabies, especially large breeds. All of ours are doing great with this product.
