How to Think Like A Horse: The Essential Handbook for Understanding Why Horses Do What They Do

I enjoyed reading this book so much. The author writes in just enough details to understand the concepts and the "why" behind everything. It's a great way to start learning about horses, but I even think established horsepeople will find it helpful too! The photos and illustrations are great. Highly recommend.

I'm not much of a book person but I could not put this down!! It is a very well written book. Haven owned horses before It did seem a little repetitive, but it's always nice to brush up on the basics. I like how it included a list of behavioral problems and how to correct them, such as cribbing. I overall really enjoyed this book and even learned some new things!

Cheryl Hill is a new hero of mine. Her grasp of the equine species is tremendous and she has a beautiful and easy way of communicating her deep knowledge to us in this book. I now require all my children to read it (cover to cover) as it will help them understand why horses do what they do, and how, in our becoming better horsemen, we will bring out the amazing horse inside each one of ours. The layout is excellent, photography spectacular, and the format so easy to follow and read. Five stars for sure.

This wasn’t exactly what I thought, was definitely a lot more scientific on the horses body, it’s functions and anatomy but was still super interesting and I feel like I definitely learned something. Great for the older horse lover in your life but would most likely be too complicated for a kid

One of the best books ever! Cherry Hill makes it easy to understand your horse. Every aspect of their mannerism is explained in this book. It's a great way to teach yourself and your children about horses and understanding their nature. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in horses and especially anyone that owns horses. Cherry Hill is an amazing writer, intuitive thinker and really gives a valuable inside look at how horses think.

I have to say, I tried several of the techniques mentioned in this book and they worked like a charm! I discovered how beneficial it is to let your horse explore his/her surroundings and felt a noticeable appreciation from my mount during a recent ride. The philosophy of understanding how a horse behaves and training with positive feedback are perhaps the main themes of this book so i would definitely recommend it to those wishing to move away from the traditional, 'slap'em hard till they behave' approach.

This book deserves a place on every horse persons book shelf. It’s full of useful information and insight into horse behavior, and the horse/human relationship. The writer speaks to you intelligently and with confidence that only years of horse experience can convey. I think every horse person can take something useful away from reading this book, regardless of experience.

This book was AMAZING for someone wanting to learn more about horses. I volunteer at a horse rescue and have joined their groom team. This book taught me SOOOO much!

This is an absolutely beautiful book by Cherry Hill. It tells you so many new things about the animal and also teaches you to decode horse behaviour. Great for beginners and veterans alike.
