I believe that the jack will perform most of your expectations, if it functions the way it's suppose to right out of the box. If not, send it back, and get a new one. Anything made by man can be defective, and you can't depend upon quality control to catch it. Now, about the finish of the Xtreme"s powder coat, which disappoints consumers. The powder coat does chip off where metal rubs metal, but I don't know of a material that won't come off if rubbed long enough, and hard enough. The powder coat is hard and brittle, so if it gets wacked hard enough, or scraped hard enough, it's going to come off. I don't imagine that they put a lot of investment in making the powder coat bullet proof. Having said all that, if the extra cost of the powder coat will disappoint you if it comes off in places, be prepared to be disappointed. I purchased the jack for Farm use, so I can't really speak to the sport aspect of it. From the reviews, it does a great job off road. The jack is built like a tank, I can't imagine it not lifting anything within reason. I'm sure that it has it's weight limit, but I can't imagine anything in the automotive range that it won't lift. I would buy it again for my needs, even if the powder coat does come off.
