Around the ranch wood shop, it is very capable. The bristles are rather "fine", so it gathers up saw dust and lighter material quite nicely. You'd want more coarse bristles for heavier stuff like clay, dirt clods, nuts/bolts. We also bought the Weiler wooden handle.
