## Description

Product Description Mr.Hobby Gundam Marker Basic Set (Set of 6) From the Manufacturer A pack of 6 easy to use paint markers that come in a variety of colors for use on Gundam models and other plastic model kits.

Review: Great quality - Great markers, drawn plenty of stuff. Still to this day it has been easy to use and it does not dry out after not using it for so long.
Review: Gundam Markers - I just got these in the mail today. As a beginner when it comes to painting Gundam models, I have to say the learning curve on these might be a little steep to those who don't... pay much attention to detail. Me being the control freak that I am, I'm LOVING these. Getting them to work is common sense, shake the bottle, press down the tip, wait for paint, worst comes to worst repeat. The paint is fine, as if it were diluted in thinner, but not to the point of being runny. Wherever you run the pen, you'll leave a good thick, clean layer of paint. They're cleaner and easier to use than the DecoColor Calligraphy pen's I own. The tips are some sort of porous plastic, whereas the DecoColor tips seem to be some sort of super-thin metal wiring compressed together, almost like very fine steel wool. These tips tend to fray after some use; the Gundam Markers do not fray at all, even with excessive pressure. Don't get me wrong, these are painting tools, so they need to be treated with care. The Metallic Gray is effing AMAZING. Very cool black-into-silver glossy marble-like color, and it paints so smoothly. I used it to detail joints, mechanical parts, the inside of containers, etc. Blue is definitely the Gundam blue we all know and love. Goes on bright, dries to a perfect hue. I tested it out on an old 1/144 Wing Zero I have, and I couldn't tell the difference between the paint and plastic besides the texture itself. The same goes for Red and Yellow. White is tricky to use, especially on surfaces that are dark. I find myself doing double and triple coats of the white in order to get a nice, clean white finish. It's easy to leave imperfections or bubbles in the paint when using the white marker, but that's a simple fix... Just run the marker lightly over the bubble or mark, and it'll smooth it out. The grey panel liner is my pet-peeve of the bunch... Maybe I haven't activated it correctly, but when I use it the ink is very opaque, and if I concentrate it, it looks purple, not grey. Perhaps I'm not using it correctly, so I'll hold my judgement fully... As for the tip, I love it. It's a sort of foamy brush tip, very fine at the end, but tapers to a good thickness. So it works for panel-lining and some detailing if you can get the ink to run correctly. All in all, definitely worth it for me, I'll buy them again when the paint runs out. Take your time to learn how to use these, whether by painting on your old or broken models, or even your remote control... Remember, it washes off with acetone.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: are these markers good for 1/144 scale gundams?**
A: I think they’re amazing for 1/144 scale kits. Although ultimately it’s all up to personal preference

**Q: Are these and other similar markers what modelers advise you use to paint over once you "remove" a nub and it leaves a mark/discoloration?**
A: If you primer everything then all the surfaces are going to be sanded and the mark/discoloration from the nub will be a moot issue. If you don't use primer and just remove the parts from the trees then yeah you can use these markers to cover up the area where the nub was attached to the part.

**Q: How good is the coverage of the Paint? Since I am trying to paint the uncolored (black) pieces from the Valvrave I Full Impact model kit.**
A: The paint covers well. It all depends on the color your painting on. White may look bad over the black. Besides that the red might have a hard time on the black plastic as well. The yellow looks great on darker plastic. The other black and blue should go good on anything.

**Q: Do these dry or is top coat required?**
A: They dry to the touch in about an hour or two, and cure completely over 24-48 hours (depending on temperature/humidity conditions in your area). They do not require top coat, however top coat does improve and protect the final finish. Otherwise, they look great without top coat.
