Der Kaffee ist vermutlich mit das non plus ultra was Nachhaltigkeit angeht, denn das "Bird Friendly" Siegel vom Smithonian Institut ist ein Garant für einen ökologisch angebauten "shade grown" Kaffee, zu dem ist der Kaffee "fair trade" zertifiziert und "bio/organic". In Europa gibt es außer einigen Röstern in UK und einem in der Tschechischen Republik nahezu keine Röster die "Bird Friendly" zertifizierten Kaffee anbieten, was sehr sehr schade ist. Alleine deswegen möchte ich dem Kaffee 3 Sterne geben. Leider hat der Kaffee selbst frisch gemahlen kaum nennenswertes Aroma und auch wenn er recht vollmundig schmeckt wird dies von einem "verbrannten" Geschmack übertüncht. Ohne jetzt ein Kaffee-Profi zu sein, empfinde ich den Kaffee als zu stark oder zu lange geröstet, was wenig Aussagen über das Aroma der Bohnen zu lässt. In einem süßen "Milch"kaffee oder ähnlichem fällt das nicht auf, aber in der French Press oder als Filterkaffee merkt man das leider. Daher leider 0 weitere Punkte für Aroma und Geschmack.
