Works great for my needs...
Works awesome! My application requires close to 12 volts with the input voltage varying from 11.5 - 14 volts. This does the trick holding the output voltage at exactly 12.5 volts across an even larger input voltage range than I require. Admittedly, I would have been fine with the 3 amp version but chose the 5 amp to provide additional current capacity. I am drawing 1.7 amps continuous and it does not even get warm to the touch.

Keeps failing in maxair fan
Lasts about a year on my maxair fan, am on number 3 now. Fan pulls less than 5 amps, and sees 14.8 volts max at input, is fused at 5A, yet these keep blowing at random

So far so good two max air fans no more surging when batteries are teetering around 14+ volts , giving peace of mind to protect the fan motors.. Side note the one guys review is incorrect application user error he tryed to use this to boost the voltage higher rather than protect a smaller voltage applicane from higher 12v+ voltage thats why his blew up or whatever ๐๐ญ

Works to regulate output voltage
Cannot attest to it boosting 9v to 12v. It does buck (regulate) 14.5v down to 13.2v. Solved a problem with security cameras occasionally shutting down do to high a input voltage.

Perfect for project
I purchased this item for a mod project on my Maxxair Fan on my Hiker Trailer teardrop camper. You can find numerous YouTube videos on how to do it, if you need to. The size and ease of install could not be easier (well, for me at least, and there is plenty or room within the fan's housing to place it easily ). Time will tell how long it will last but I anticipate it will do what it's supposed to do for a very long time. I tested everything after install and the voltage to the fan's CB remained a steady 12v. EDIT: 10SEP24...went camping and turned MaxxFan on, no dice....troubleshooting revealed that that no voltage flowed through regulator....it failed.....I withdraw my recommendation.

Does not last
Lasted less than a year, I was using it on an RV 12v system to regulate voltage to a maxxair fan worked like a charm until it didnโt. ๐ข

12 Volt DC-DC voltage regulator
I just installed the DROK DC-DC voltage regulator in series with the voltage input to my pop-up camper MaxAir 7000K fan. I have seen many other people use this practical regulator. The markings as to which wires are the positive & negative are very intuitive. This is device is compact, very light weight and time will tell how long this will run before failing.

Worked for My Solar Powered Fountain
I wanted to connect my 10 amp (20 volt) solar panel to a small 12 volt water pump. The voltage of the solar panel varies between 20 volts down to zero depending on the sunlight and I wasn't sure the that the small pump would take more than 12 volts so I connected this in between the solar panel and the pump. Worked perfectly. In bright sunlight the panel puts out 20 volts and the unit drops the voltage down to 12 volts for the pump. Problem solved! Specs say it will take in up to 36 volts and output 12 volts at a maximum of 5.6 amps. The solar panel puts out about 20 volts at a maximum of 2 amps, this unit drops the voltage down to 12 volts. Works fine. In addition, the unit is well sealed and seems weatherproof, which is important since I have it mounted outside of the water fountain in the weather and exposed to the elements.

Stopped Working
Bought this August '24 to supply a stable voltage to a MaxxAir Deluxe fan in my motorhome which pulls a maximum of 4A. Worked great..........for about 3 weeks in the 10 months it was installed and used. Now there is no output.

Voltage stabilizer for MaxxFan issues
This DROK DC Stabilizer is one of 2 main fixes for the dreaded MaxxFan green light beep and failure. The MaxxFan is the Best and Worst RV fan in the industry. When working, it is without a doubt the best RV fan with the most air movement, quietest operation, and low amp draw of the various options out there. But it suffers from 2 manufacturing fatal flaws that have been well documented by many who have suffered the fan failure. The first flaw is the circuit board not being waterproof, and living below a vent cap that can allow outside water onto the board, or inside condensation to drip onto the board. The second flaw is the electronic components used that are extremely sensitive to voltages over 13 volts or so. This is problematic as many RVs see voltages up to 14 to 14.5 volts when receiving charge from a generator, a tow vehicle, or a solar system. So having read numerous accounts of fan failures, and methods to correct the problem, I went in search of a DC voltage regulator. This one received good reviews, was well priced, and was also used by other fixing the same issue with their own MaxxFans. I installed this voltage regulator after having to replace my failed circuit board, in the hope that this permanently solves one of the problems. I bench tested this unit before installing it, as shown in the photo, using a portable lithium battery that provided 13.3 volts output. This Autoutlet regulator held the through voltage to a constant 12.2 volts. After installation, I again tested it once connected to my RV 12 volt system, which on shore power with the battery charger active was showing over 13 volts. This regulator did a great job of holding it to 12.2 volts installed. To protect the circuit board from problem #1 (moisture) I also coated top and bottom with thin coat of GE Silicone Supreme (neutral curing silicone sealant). I'm hoping these two remedies will keep my MaxxFan operating for many more years to come, hopefully with no more flashing-green-lights-of-death. I can't speak to longevity of this voltage regulator yet as it's only been in for a few months of operation, but so far it has helped the fan work flawlessly, thru all 10 speeds, in forward and reverse, as it is meant to operate. If you're looking for a reliable Voltage regulation option, I can highly recommend this Autoutlet device and the company selling it. Check out the attached photos for visuals of how I mounted it, using hot melt glue, into the outer frame of the fan. This caused no problems with clearance even in the low profile roof of our little Coachmen Apex Nano trailer.

Useless straight out of the box
Same story as others, bought for maxxair fan fix. 14V going in, less than 1V coming out. Waste of plastic.

Bought this to stabilise the voltage for a bougerv fridge that shuts down about 10.5v worked for a couple outings, then this year on the water all my accessories dead. 5A fuse dead, so out in new one. That does next trip out but I brought fuses, amd put in a 7.5A. that blew. Today put a new 7.5A in and an hour into the boat ride all accessories die again, but I can smell something really burning electrical, so I shut down the entire circuit. We'll get back and pull the dash apart, and this thing has two giant bubbles on it it has melted so bad. The only thing running off this was the plug in portable fridge. The fridge at max is 3-5A, but when cycling is 1.5A-2A. when the fridge was directly on the access circuit, it never blew the 5A fuse even with a garmin 9" color fish finder, stereo..etc... it would just shut itself down when voltage dropped too low if engine off. So obviously the draw was under 5A. Lucky this thing didn't catch fire.
