Does not contain petroleum!
I am allergic to the petroleum that is found in many lip balms, so I had to search for a while to find this product. It smells and tastes good, and doesn't leave my lips worse off than before, like so many other lip balms. This allergy appeared later in life, after years of using petroleum-based lip balms. I'm glad I found this product.

Great flavor
This lip balm has a shockingly good flavor and scent. There is a slight aftertaste that is mildly soap-like if you ingest too much. As far as sun protection, I haven’t used it long enough to tell.

These are great, I just wish they were a bit more moisturizing
Pros: -Cruelty free/vegan -Smell/taste INCREDIBLE -Leave a cute glossy sheen on your lips -SPF, but doesn't leave a white cast Cons: -Doesn't moisturize for long at all I want to give them 5 stars, but the main point of a lip balm is to leave your lips feeling moisturized and hydrated. It does that at first, but quickly goes away and leaves me needing to reapply. They're still good, but don't leave the long-lasting hydration that I'd like.

Seems to work well
It's important to protect lips from the sun and often neglected. This balm claims 30 SPF, which is minimum one should use. It goes on nicely and is pleasant tasting, important since it's difficult to avoid getting a bit of it the mouth.

Allergic reaction
About 5 weeks ago I began using the Sun Bum Mango Sunscreen lip balm during my bi weekly tennis games. I needed a quality SPF 30 sunscreen to protect my lips during my late morning matches. I noticed an extreme dryness to my lips and therefore felt it necessary to frequently apply the lip balm. After about 1 week of using the product I began noticing burning of my outer lips as well as tenderness to my inner lower lip. I thought maybe it was from the toothpaste I was using and continued to randomly use the lip balm to moisturize and soothe my lips. I changed my toothpaste brand but then began having blister like sores appear on my outer lips. At that point I thought it might be something in my diet that was causing the sores. The discomfort was so intense I began using the Sun Bum moisturizing in the evening with the hopes that the pain would cease. I was waking up about every 3 hours to reapply the product. I was using other products during the day to help soothe my lips but continued to use the lip balm during my tennis games. I was so frustrated and confused not knowing what was causing my lip blistering, pain and discomfort that I considered scheduling an appointment with my PCP to try to determine if I had some sort of condition that could be diagnosed and treated. Then, this morning I began reading reviews of individuals who had the same reaction as me, to the Sun Bum Mango Sunscreen Lip Balm. I am somewhat relieved to know that I most likely do not have a serious medical condition causing my lip pain and instead some reaction to this lip balm. Needless to say, I will not be using this product in the future and hopefully, within time, my lips will return back to normal. I need to find another sunscreen product that does not cause such misery and keeps my lips safe from sunburn and damage.
