SheaMoisture Hold and Shine Moisture Mist Coconut and Hibiscus for Thick, Curly Hair for Frizz Control 8 fl oz

I have had what I thought was simply frizzy hair since I was a child until about 25 years ago when I found I actual had very curly hair. I have called with MANY different brands of products for curly hair and I can tell you this 62 year old Irish gal from the beaches of southern California won't be switching again any time soon. Whether you call this an "ethnic" product or not, my hair is healthy, hydrated, growing like a weed, not weighted down, or greasy, oily other anything negative! The fragrance is very island - coconut, shea butter and fresh but not overwhelming in the least. I've found I don't need to wash my hair as often because the products compliment each other and don't build up but absorb INTO my hair making each strand more healthy. I'm able to use the spray, the foam mousse and gel souffle in just the right amounts to have the perfect natural, untouched look daily. Good job Shea Moisture!

This stuff is awesome! My son has thick curly hair that when cut short appears straight but is full of hidden cowlicks! He is 14 and a student athlete, so he’s not into conditioning or styling and his hair looks dry and pretty dull. We have tried all types of product with no luck. This is the ONLY thing that calms and controls his cowlicks, the curls and dryness! Plus it smells wonderful! And he likes that there is no greasy residue and that it leaves his hair soft and shiny. We originally purchased it at a beauty supply but this price is even better!

I have thick, tight ringlets (3a/3b/3c) and my mom has thinner, wavy hair. My hair is especially responsive to coconut oil and my mom less so, but this product is a rare one that works for both of us. It moisturizes hair without weighing it down. Seriously, it makes hair super soft and less frizzy! For my mom, it miraculously brings out curls that have started to disappear with age. Her hair is particularly temperamental about balancing definition and volume so she’s super excited about finally finding a product that works for her. I find it particularly helpful for reviving 2nd+ day hair with just a few sprays on dry hair. On wash days when I need less moisture and a quicker routine, I do several spritzes on wet hair instead of the same line’s curl enhancing smoothie. I scrunch the product in and glide Curl Keeper gel in between my palms. I wrap or “plop” (a silly name for a very helpful heatless technique) to dry. Combined, I get very light and defined curls. I haven’t encountered any greasiness or buildup issues. I think the product smells more like pure coconut oil than the normal Coconut & Hibiscus scent. Nonetheless, it’s good and not overbearing. With all those positives, there still is a negative to be addressed. A design flaw (I think in the screw thread of the top being too short) allows the top to opened very easily. The packaging should include some sort of plastic wrap on the bottle, a perforated shrink band on the top, or one of those peel off plastic circles on the bottle opening (i.e. those in vitamin containers for preservation). Beyond the obvious importance of this for transport, it would provide greater assurance on a lack of tampering. This need is amplified by other reviewers’ reports of fakes (not my experience though).

My hair is naturally thick and wavy. I'm always on the go, have a demanding professional job, and don't take a lot of time to get ready in the morning. My hair is usually thrown up in ponytail and becomes frizzy and slightly unkempt during the day. I tried the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Moisture Mist because of the good reviews online and most of the reviews are pretty accurate. The bottle easily fits in my hand without being too heavy or clunky. The spray mechanism is of a good quality and the spray stream is even and consistent. The smell is pleasant unless you have to use a lot of the product, such as on long hair like mine, when your natural oils interact with an abundance of the mist creating a sort of overwhelming powerful odor. I have found that the coconut smell only lasts for a few minutes before dissipating. When using on dry hair, the mist takes on more of a moisture role and mimics a softer version of hairspray. The shine lasts for about 2 hours, but it holds pretty well and still gives a polished look to hair that is slicked back into a ponytail. When using on damp hair, it is important to work through the product completely and distribute to all parts of your hair. If not, there are parts of your hair that look smooth and elegant while other parts are frizzy and splotchy. I found the product to work better overall on damp hair. Even after blow drying my hair with the product, it worked more like a spray in conditioner. Only downfall is that I had to spray about 20 times to cover my entire hair and still missed some visible spots after my hair had dried. I did however love how my hair looked completely down without using any other hair care products. If you can spare the extra 30 seconds getting ready, the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Moisture Mist for thick and curly hair is worth the time.

I haven’t found anything I dislike about this product. It’s a lovely styling mist that leaves my hair not frizzy like it normally is. W/ this mist my natural curls bond together, my hair smells fresh & it also doesn’t leave a film on top of my hair. Loving this product!

“Affordable curl care" Tried the SheaMoisture Curl & Shine moisture mist and it made my hair feel heavy. Might not be suitable for my type of curls. The rest of the line works better for me. It may have caused more frizz in my hair but it smells great. Have you tried this one?

Ich bin ein Riesen Fan von Shea Moisture und bis jetzt hat mich kein Produkt von denen enttäuscht ! Und das hat was zu heißen. Der Geruch ist sehr angenehm und nich zu penetrant, von der Konsistenz flüssig was auch in Ordnung ist. Zieht schnell in den Haaren ein, gibt den locken den perfekten halt und zugleich sehen sie sooo toll aus. Ich verwende es zweimal, einmal nachdem ich alle Produkte (im nassen Zustand) in den Haaren eingearbeitet habe und einmal nachdem ich sie mit einem Diffuser geföhnt habe.

Smells good.. not much of hold though..its ok for refreshing natural curls
