Little thing works great
We get 40+ stations with this lil guy hooked up to a small outdoor antenna. Our cable input fitting broke and this hooked up to the HDMI and works great. The remote has to be pointed directly at the receiver to work and power on off is a bit slow to react but all in all works good and as for price point, it's a great product.

Definitely Recommend
I purchased this converter and it stop working within a week. It will not power on. I recommend this product from this seller. 1 year later, converter still works PERFECTLYโฆ. UPDATE: seller sent me a new one and it works PERFECT. Thanks so much. Would definitely purchase again.

Meets expectations.
This was purchased as a gift for my mom. She uses an antenna to get local stations over the air and we live in an area that is transitioning to ATSC 3.0 which her current television has a tuner for. Unfortunately, stations in the area are implementing DRM on the broadcasts that block shows and live sports. The area still broadcasts ATSC 1.0 for these stations, so this tuner is meant to provide access to stations that currently are not supported on the newer tuner. This box meets expectations for the price. The digital picture looks good on the TV and the installation was straight forward. It found the local stations with no issue with just an indoor antenna. The remote control buttons are sometimes not as responsive as I would like. Because of this, I gave this 4 stars. It meets my expectations, but does not exceed them.

Good while it lasts - which isn't long.
I purchased one of these. It lasted for less than a year - minimal usage (maybe 5 hours a month at the most). Then it randomly started failing... it would just go black. I contacted the seller, and they were very responsive and sent me a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement has started doing the same thing, maybe 4 months into service. (And - it seems to have a knack for failing at the most inopportune time - usually at the end of a big football drive or with 30 seconds left in the basketball game.) I have a Mediasonic RAID disk array that's provided totally trouble-free service for almost 10 years, but the TV tuner has been a disappointment. I'll try a different brand.

The Mediasonic Homeworx Converter Box is wonderful!
I recently stopped watching cable TV and switched all of my television sets to Antenna TV. The Mediasonic Homeworx HW130STB Digital Converter Box made the transition very easy. If you follow the instructions exactly as written, you will have no problem installing the converter box. The picture and audio are very good quality, and I am able to watch several of the same channels that I had with cable.

Not bad for the price, but I am looking for a replacement with a better Program Guide.
I recently cut the chord and am using this Mediasonic OTA DVR, for the price it works great. Unfortunately, it does not satisfy my needs. First, the remote has very little range in its use, I have gotten around this with my Logitech Harmony Hub which works well with the product and gives me amazing range and angle of attack for the remote IR Blast. The recording and playback are a pain but it does present a clear picture, yet there is little else you can do when recording. The biggest dissatisfaction is the EPG (Electronic Program Guide), it does not provide a Grid guide listing channels and time in one grid, it instead lists an individual channel and the current and upcoming shows. As you look to the other channels in the guide it changes the channel to what the guide is currently displaying. Because of the technology, I understand why its doing this, yet it is not the way I want to experience my TV. The alternatives I am looking at are at least 6 to 8 times the price, and many require an additional subscription to get the EPG experience I seek. For the Price, I will keep it as a backup when I make the upgrade. I am also looking for a Pro in my area to help upgrade the antenna before buying the much more expensive solution. At best, I receive 90 channels, any wind or raindrops that down significantly to 75 with pixalation on channels received.

piece of garage (not so...see more notes below)
Please DO NOT buy this. I should have listen to the other reviews. I was able to one my local football game last week and excited to use it again tomorrow to watch NFL play off game. This piece of garbage won't even power on. I have never been this pissed in my life. And I hate writing reviews too. Well, this one needs it. Revision: I bought a new and different brand tv tuner and it too has a power issue. Surely enough, it was not the tv tuner after all...it was my wall socket that was bad :{ For the one week that I own the Mediasonic TV tuner, I had no issue and I was actually really happy with the unit. Base on one week usage, I want to make a revision and give it 5 stars!!!! *****

This product is compatible with the Vizio Chromecast Television.
I am one of the few people that purchased the Vizio Chromecast TV's which were only in stores for one year. It is basically a computer monitor with a built in ROKU. You will need this product if you have the same TV and want to add local channels. It allows you to convert coaxial to HDMI. It worked perfectly. I did purchase a HDMI cable separately just to be sure. The channel quality is decent on some channels, better on others. Since I don't have cable I just wanted to make sure I am able to still see the news if my internet goes out. (This has happened multiple times). Overall, good product.
