Blue's Back, Baby! (And Slightly Less Likely to Bite Your Hand Off
Alright, buckle up, dino-nerds! The Jurassic World Velociraptor Blue action figure has landed, and it's pretty darn cool. If you've ever wanted your very own fiercely loyal (in a fictional, genetically-engineered way) raptor to guard your desk, then look no further. First impressions? Blue looks fantastic. The signature blue stripe is vibrant and pops against her detailed, scaly skin. The sculpt captures her sleek, intelligent, and slightly menacing look from the movies. She's definitely got that "clever girl" vibe radiating off her plastic form. Articulation-wise, Blue is surprisingly nimble for a prehistoric predator. Her arms, legs, neck, and even her tail have a good range of motion, allowing for some dynamic poses. You can definitely recreate some of those iconic stalking scenes or have her poised for a dramatic pounce (just be careful she doesn't knock over your coffee). The 6-inch scale feels just right โ she's substantial enough to be impressive but not so large that she takes over your entire shelf. She fits in well with other figures in a similar scale, making it easy to stage your own mini Jurassic World mayhem. So, why not a full five stars for our favorite blue-striped dino? A couple of minor quibbles: The Balancing Act: While the articulation is great, getting Blue to stand perfectly on her own in some of the more dynamic poses can be a bit of a balancing act. You might find yourself subtly adjusting her for optimal stability, especially if your desk isn't perfectly level (blame the earthquakes... or just my clumsy setup). Accessory Apathy: Unlike some other figures in this line, Blue doesn't come with any extra accessories. No tranquilizer darts, no Owen Grady mini-figure to whisper sweet nothings about respect, just Blue in all her glorious, unadorned raptor-ness. While she's awesome on her own, a little something extra would have been a nice touch. The Price Point Pounce: Depending on where you buy her, Blue can be a little on the pricier side. While the quality and detail are definitely there, it might make your wallet let out a small, involuntary screech. Overall: If you're a fan of Blue and the Jurassic World franchise, this 6-inch action figure is a fantastic addition to your collection. She looks great, has impressive articulation, and captures the essence of the character perfectly. Just be prepared for a little bit of posing finesse and the potential for a slightly lighter wallet. She's a clever figure, and you'll likely be pretty pleased to have her on your side (or at least on your display shelf). Just try not to make any sudden movements. You know how these clever girls can be.

Screen Accurate
Mattel Jurassic World Amber Collection Velociraptor Blue The previous Amber Collection releases never managed to draw my interest. The Velociraptor looks good, but the sculpt was very clearly meant for Blue., and Ian just doesnโt look enough like Ian. They are nice figures, but not for me. This one, however, caught my eye immediately, and I am happy to report that I am definitely not disappointed! The sculpt is gorgeously detailed. Nearly every scale, bump, skin fold, and wrinkle is in place. She even has the small osteoderms on her neck. These were missing in the main line Blue figures. The details are not perfect, however. There are a few areas around the bottom seam line that are a bit on the smooth side, but itโs nothing glaring. Also, while her nostrils are sculpted beautifully, her ears are nowhere to be seen. She also suffers from the same enlarged feet as her smaller counterparts. It just seems like an odd creative choice to sculpt the oversized feet since she includes a stand. My only other major issue is with the teeth. While the teeth are perfectly serviceable, they could have been so much more. If only they were thinner, and more sharpened, they would have been perfect. As it stands, theyโre rather blunted, and look more like something made for a childโs toy rather than an adult collector. Iโm especially disappointed that my particular figure has a small bit of red paint dripped onto the teeth. Luckily, itโs on the inner part of the teeth, so you cannot see it unless youโre at the right angle. Articulations and paint are where this girl really shines. She has 21 points of articulations, as well as a bendy tail. The joints are tight, but still easy to move. They hold their positions well, and have great range of motion. Thanks to the included stand (which also features articulations), you can achieve some really dynamic poses. I especially love that Mattel gave her articulated killing claws. Itโs an excellent little touch that adds a lot to the figure. The paint applications are spectacular! Blueโs coloration is lifted directly off the silver screen. Her trademark blue stripes have never looked so good, and she is even covered in the dark and light mottling that was missing from the standard releases. The interior of the mouth is a glossy pink and red. The teeth are mostly well painted, except for the aforementioned mishap on my particular figure. The eye is done in a bold golden color, and there is no hint of sloppiness. Mattel also made sure to address one of the most vocal criticisms of the main line: unpainted claws. Thatโs not an issue here! All of the claws are painted perfectly, even the dewclaws. My only real gripe is that the paint just seems to end at the tip of the tail. Overall, this figure is a worthy addition to any Jurassic collection. Other than a few nitpicks, and one or two unfortunate mishaps, she is a beautiful representation of our girl Blue!

Absolutely Fantastic Raptor Figure
I was super impressed with the mattel line of dinosaur toys in general. The sculpts are immaculate, they feel sturdy/strong enough to be played with younger audiences and the paint jobs although simple are for the most part really well done. My biggest thing was the articulation. They had a good amount but I was left wanting for just a little more. The amber collection raptors fulfilled this want. I got the JP version first and I was so impressed I got Blue as well. (Still on the fence about Charlie because of the paint application on his face...) I can say hands down though that these raptors are some of my favorite dino toys. The detail is great, the paint is application is wonderful, the level of articulation is fantastic and they still feel sturdy enough to be handled posed and played with. (They may not be appropriate for super young audiences (4-6 year olds) but older than that you should be good.) My only complaint is the jaw on the Blue that I got is just a slightly more loose than my JP raptor. (I imagine this is an individual issue though.) Other than that really minor issue she's just about flawless. If you're a fan of Jurassic Park/dinosaurs you will love these figures. I can't wait to have a whole pack of these guys and I'm super excited to see more dinos join the Mattel's Amber Collection line.

Best Jurassic World Raptor Figure!
Amber collection velociraptor Blue is a great figure! Just like the original velociraptor released prior, it has all the same articulation points (including sickle claw) and an even cooler paint application. It also seems like they fixed the crooked tail. For MSRP of $29.99, itโs totally worth the price, and if you can get it on sale like I did, itโs a steal! Itโs great to have an in between of a kids toy and high end collectible that is affordable and still good looking!

looks better in person!
When i bought this at first i thought the teeth were going to look peg like judging from the photos, but i bought it anyways because i wanted a posable blue in the correct scale for my indoraptor figure (because they could have been a cute couple if JW hadn't made blue a superhero and indo a mindless killing machine). I was VERY pleasantly surprised once she came in the mail and it turned out the photos were misleading. the amount of articulation is wonderful and the detail is great! i would absolutely recommend this as a good buy if you are looking to collect an articulated toy. if your buying this for a younger child though just keep in mind it's only posable and doesnt have a button that makes the claws slash or anything like that.

Great figure but no trading card with this one
This figure is very movie accurate. The coloring and features are very good. Only thing that is disappointing is there is no trading card as is with the Indoraptor or raptor Charlie. I'd think they'd all have the cards. Especially since Blue is the star of the movie.

BLOWN AWAY!
I am personally blown away by this release. I'm so happy we are finally getting quality Dino figures with good articulation. The sculpt ,paint, and overall presentation is great for the price. Add a surprisingly advanced range of articulation give the ability to get alot of personality out of various poses. As an added bonus she can completely close her mouth allowing her to look calm and calculated or ferocious with a couple tweeks. I hope this line continues, maybe some day we will get an in scale T-rex

Very well articulated dinosaur toy.
Exactly what I was looking for, although slightly disappointed that the price is not the same as store retail but more after market mark up. Overall a great figure that my kids and I enjoy playing with.
