For me these are the perfect key rings.
I’ve used these for decades. I used to buy a single one in a blister pack at hardware stores where keys are made but I haven’t seen them recently. These are tremendous. The cable is thicker and much stiffer than the 2mm cables you’ll see with the screw on ends. This “twisty” cable measures 2.4mm in diameter (including the color coating). They open fairly easily by making a figure 8 then they close easily the same way. They are stiff enough that it’s nearly impossible they’ll come apart accidentally. These cables are relatively short which makes for a nice size key ring. The cable key rings that have the screw mechanism to close can be combined into a long cable so can make a very large key ring, but you won’t want to do that with these, with the “twisty” connectors, that would make them less stiff and more likely to open. So if you want a small normal sized key ring I’d use these. If you have a large number of keys on the same ring, then you’ll want something else. I love these. I find them much easier to use than split rings. In the photos, the green one is the one with the “twisty” closure, the silver one is one with the screw type closure. Another advantage to the Twisty is that the cable connector is much thinner so the keys easily pass over the connection. With the screw type, the threaded collar is much larger in diameter and most keys will not pass over the connection hardware. Incidentally if you get a cable type key ring, get one with the colored plastic covering the cable. (The silver one in the picture has no covering, it’s a bare cable. One of the wires in the bare cable has broken, the broken tiny stiff wire pokes out sideways, and it makes a sharp snag that’ll draw blood.) Overall, these twisty key rings are the best, they are light, trouble free, easy to use, and they last forever.

Easily the best key ring I've ever had
This key ring is easily the best I've ever had. It's secure when closed, in that it doesn't pop open without deliberate effort. At the same time, unlike the awful metal rings that have to be pried open with a knife or potential loss of a fingernail, it is simple, quick, and painless to open. When I leave a car at the repair shop, it takes me less than half a second to remove the appropriate key and have the ring closed up so I can walk away with my other keys. The one in my pocket has lasted more than four years now and is still going strong. If I hadn't lost the other four from the set, my wife and daughters' keys would also be on them. :-) The socket is just a little bit wide for my keyless fob for my new Accord, but the pin side fits through fine.

Great for using on Cruises.
I use this for family on a cruise. Guest Services will punch a whole in your sea pass (Card for room) and then you connect this to loop on shorts or badge holder that you clip onto shorts or bathing suit. If you ever cruised before you are always trying to find your room key to get into your room or buy a drink. It is very frustrating not to get to your sea pass easily or worse lose it. The really nice thing about these is they don't connect by screwing them together you bend it into a figure 8. Once you done it once or twice you have it down. So easy to get off but impossible to come undone unless you want it come undone. I snorkeled, swam, and hike with these on the outside of my shorts and did not every have to worry with losing my sea pass. These work well for a key you need to take off and on your key ring. BTW if you are getting this for a cruise and don't have loops on men shorts or women swim suits you should get the retractable badge holder with pin. These do not have the flimsy badge holder they a ring that you use the twist Key ring. If you been on a cruise before you will know why you need this. Next time you are on a cruise count the people waiting at their cabin door trying to find their card.

Excellent and insanely secure connection!
I've been looking for a wire style key ring that will NOT simply unscrew and release all of my keys and this it it!! It should be first in the Amazon search results, imo. The connection is absolutely fantastic. It definitely takes some practice to form it into the figure 8 and get the clip to release and to get to connected again, but that's a good thing! This will definitely NOT come undone on its own. Period. I use this on my motorcyle so my keys must be secure - I don't want my other keys flying off the bike at 80+ mph. And the old style of metal keyrings are unforgiving and cause other keys to get wedged and scratch the tank/ignition area (if you ride, and have your bike key on your main key ring, you know what I'm talking about). This specific 5 inch size holds a thick motorcycle key, a toyota key fob and four other "regular" house size keys and that about maxes it out for the 5 inch size because you need a little additional room to twist it to get it latched. This is light years ahead of the screw-latch style.

Not reliable!
I was thrilled when I first got these, they seemed perfect. However, this morning getting out of the car, the cable came apart and my keys were scattered all over the ground. At my age, picking up keys off the ground is a challenge! It seemed secure but after opening and closing a few time to add or take away a key, it now will open in the closed position. I think after opening and closing the metal gets rounded over like a cheap nut and with a slight tug it lets go.

Very difficult to close
Opening it up with an 8-figure shape was easy to do on 3 of the rings I tested, but I could somehow could not close it back up with an 8-figure shape. It is definitely very sturdy, but if someone has the patience to learn how to close it, this is for them.

These are not a good purchase. Very difficult to fasten and unfasten (hurt my fingers trying) and sometimes they pop open. Also, some keys do not fit over the metal clip fastener thing, very frustrating. I do not recommend this product.

O produto é bom, porém, o sistema de abrir e fechar é chato de manusear é sem jeito por ser pequeno. Mas o produto não deixa de ser bom e de boa qualidade.

Had one for the last five years and finally found again on Amazon. Love these things.

I struggled for literal 5 minutes to open and mainly close all 5 lucky lines again. They all worked at different angles, 2 out of 5 can just be pulled apart with little force. Would not trust them with my keys. And my fingers hurt from trying so often. A regular carabiner beats this mess easily.

Es flexible, de un color uniforme, puedes agregar llaves sin problema y tienes la seguridad de un buen cierre. Es de esos productos que por su ingenio sirven muy bien.
