Excellent cable and plenty of length being 10 ft.
Great fast shipping, item packaged well and no damage found. Amazon listed this product with the highest ratings and it looks to be that good. This was a great upgrade from the 6 ft cable I have been using and stretching the cable too far to reach the computer. This one works great and fits so much better. Other reviewers stated they did not like the click shut button on the display port. I like it because it locks it into place so your monitor cable can't accidently become unplugged from the monitor. Fortunately, my monitor design lets me easily connect and disconnect the ports really easily. I tested it out on some games to see if it might flicker, but it came back good unlike some other display port cables I've tried. It also runs 2K videos just fine too.

Well it worked great for 4months..
Updated Review : I originally reviewed this as 1 star as the cable stopped working with about 4months of use. I contacted Cable Matters and with very little information they quickly shipped me out a new cable within no more than a week. The new cable resolved the issue which does prove the first cable did go bad. I can understand all sorts of items can have defective units and what really matters at that point is what the company does with it. I am glad they quickly resolved the issue and even checked in to see if it resolved my issue. Great customer service. If this new replacement fails I will update my review and contact them again. Lets hope this works a long time. THANK YOU CABLE MATTERS!! Original Review : Lasted about 4months. I thought my monitor or MacBook Pro might be the issue and I was able to test the display port both out of the Macbook and the Display Port into the monitor and they work with other cables and devices so I know this is the cable. I currently am using the same mini DP output out of my Macbook but with a old mini DP to HDMI adapter and that is working fine. To make sure it wasn't a defective DP port on the monitor I plugged it in via DP to DP to a PC so I know the DP on the monitor is functional. Bad cable at only 4months old, i will try to contact the company and see what I can get replaced. I usually don't see cables go bad so this was a shocker for me.

Look for an ultrathin model first.
Good quality cable but it could stand to be thinner. I use it in a dual monitor setup in a vertical arrangement and the bottom monitor is a portable 4k display. It is a 4k signal and works as expected. The cable isn't bulky, but it's as thick as some of my power cables and that makes it harder to hide and route. I think a lot of people mistake thicker cables for quality but the reality is that the thickness doesn't matter as long as the signal comes through. I've got 4k 60 hdmi cables that are a 4th as thick and I wish I could use them exclusively. Other than that, it appears to be made out of quality materials and the signal is sent. Amazon wants me to mention picture quality, and screen quality, but those keywords are not applicable when talking about a digital cable. Either it works or it doesn't and the rest is up to your tv / monitor.

Excellent cable for the price, and more than adequate for most users.
This is a great cable for the price, and is everything I expected. I use two of these at the same time to drive dual 1080p monitors from my 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I have been using these for several months for everything from basic productivity to gaming. I have had other cables that at several times the price of this one still had grainy picture representation on my displays. I haven't noticed a single issue with these and they are solid build quality. The gold-plated connectors are a single piece of metal that seems to rival quality of more expensive cables. I would recommend these to anyone owning a Mini DP-equipped device that needs to utilize a full-sized DP input. Pros: -High quality connectors -No grainy picture representation, worthy of at least light to moderate gaming -Ergonomically contoured Mini-DP plug makes for easy and safe insertion and removal Cons: -None :)

Don't make a mistake -- it is not an HDMI cable (as other reiewers have noted)
This is a tough review to write. I hate to downgrade a product because I made an error. But both the manufacturer and Amazon bear some responsibility for the problem. So let's start with the good -- the cable seems well made and had plastic covers on the ends to protect the connectors. The problem is that it is not an HDMI cable. The DisplayPort connector looks almost exactly like the HDMI connector. There is a very small difference in the design. So it looks like it should fit an HDMI connection but it doesn't fit. So why don't I take full responsibility for the error? Because there is a detailed product description on the page which talks about how to use this cable with a Mac. Why not add a single sentence that says "DisplayPort connectors are not the same as HDMI connectors although they look almost identical"? Even worse, the description of the monitor I purchased from Amazon says that it supports DisplayPort and it doesn't. Sorry if I sound grumpy but this was a real pain. It took me several hours of research to figure this all out. So be careful. If your input is HDMI then you need an HDMI cable. If your input is DisplayPort then you need a DIsplayPort cable. I've ordered a new cable and paid for Saturday delivery. Hopefully it will work. -------------------------------------- It's Saturday and the new cable arrived. It works well. As you can see from the comments the vendor monitored these reviews and promptly replied. I've added a star for excellent customer service.

Cannot Be Used to Connect DisplayPort PC to iMAC with mini DisplayPort
After receiving some replies to my question on whether this cable can be used to connect a PC with DisplayPort to an iMac with mini DisplayPort (mid 2010 model which does this functionality) I went ahead and purchased this cable. It was with great dismay that I found out that the cable cannot be used for this function. Reading the iMac page in a bit more detail, it states that you can connect a device with a mini DisplayPort to a mini DisplayPort. While I thought that the signal type would be the same between DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort this apparently is not the case. In addition, there is a version of the GTX 680 specifically made for use with an iMAC ( model number 02G-P4-3682-KR which is sold by Amazon) which might explain why my non-iMac GTX 680 did not work. An important lesson learned is that you should be cautious when questions are answered by the Amazon community even if the people answering have bought the product (amazon sends a note to people who have purchased the product to see if they can reply to it). While the cable was only $10 and I'm not upset having bought it, for higher priced items I'll be more leery about the information given. That said, the cable itself seemed really nice. I have purchased other Cable Matters products in the past (which worked great) so I don't believe that the problem is with the cable itself.

Works great for older Macs!
Works well on a 2013 Mac Pro trash can to get 4k 60hz when HDMI won’t. Works both on macOS and Windows 11.

It is my belief that the second cable was a good product and I would recommend this for the price
I am writing this as I have received 2 faulty cables now and am waiting on a 3rd. I will change my review if the next one works. I do not think I would give this product a 5 star because of the the 2 strikes now and the now 7 days of not being able to use my new monitor yet and waiting on the 3rd. I am not sure of how long total down time till I receive the next and hopefully last of the order. FYI don't send a monitor back till you fully check the cables, this one for sure. I looked up the website for Cable Matters and they are showing a newer white version for the same price. Maybe this is an old generation and the new ones have worked out the bugs. October 19th update on my above review. I left the above as to make needed corrections. The cable I first received was faulty. The 2nd was not. As the monitor had a buggy mother board and I ordered another. It is my belief that the second cable was a good product and I would recommend this for the price. It does the job.

It Works!
I purchased this cable to extend my desktop to a 2nd monitor through my display port on my laptop. It works fine, no problems so far and I use the setup every day for several hours at a time. I'd say it's a good product that does what it says. I do not have any info on whether it works on thunderbolt connections as I don't have that type of port, but as a display cable it seems to work really well..
