We wanted a television in the kitchen to make it easier to watch cooking videos without using a phone or a laptop. The problem was, there was not a wall in the line of sight to flat mount a television, so we needed one that would swivel, extend away from there wall, and tilt. I've priced these in the past and they are usually right around $100 locally. I didn't want to buy a $100 television wall mount to hang our $200 television. The price point on this mount is why I bought it. I didn't expect it to be so well built. It is very sturdy and quite heavy. The hardest part of installation was locating the studs in the wall. My house is a little older so the walls are 1/2 inch sheetrock with hard coat over it, and the paint is very thick so a stud finder is useless. My interior walls also have studs 24" on center. This bracket is made to mount at 4 points with a 16" on center stud wall. I still mounted it. I used the center holes in the bracket and the included lag bolts to install it on a single stud. The television is very light, and even with only 2 lag bolts the mount is still very sturdy and doesn't move around when I tilt and pan the 50" television. I'll probably go back and install some additional bolts using steel spring loaded butterflies just to be a little cautious, but I really don't think it's necessary. I had it out of the box and on the wall with the television within 10 minutes of locating the wall stud and I didn't even touch the directions. Very easy to make sure it's level and lined up using the included template and level. It does come with tools to help, but I didn't use them at all. I preferred to use my own ratchet and driver, but it was thoughtful of the manufacturer. You'll still need a drill for pilot holes whether you are mounting it to a stud or into concrete. I may buy 2 more of these to change the flat mounted televisions in my bedroom and living room. The only thing I would change is maybe make the backing plate long enough to spread between 24" studs. Very easy installation. I would definitely buy this again.

This is a real good tv mount. Very sturdy. The only thing I would suggest it to make the mounting plate at least 24 inches. The base plate is only 17 inches. This makes it very difficult to install the four lag bolts into the studs. 24 inch baseplate would insure that you would cross two studs.

Just had this installed and it is holding up the 65" tv spectacularly. I had a handyman put it up so I can't speak to the effort it took, but he was done quickly and said that it had everything needed plus a lot of extra parts in case the TV didn't come with them. Overall, works well and can use the positioning easily.

Bought this to hang a 50 inch TV in my bedroom and was nervous of the quality upon opening. To my surprise, all the parts are made from high quality metal and instructions were easy to follow. I liked it so much i recommended one to my mom. Pros: *High quality material. Feels very sturdy *Easy install - Very easy to follow instructions with pictures (i'm a visual person). There is a template provided to help with bolt placement and level install. *Bubble level included. *Additional pieces included - Multiple install methods depending on you set up and all parts are included. Cons: *The spacing where I wanted to install only fit 1 stud and therefore had to use toggle bolts to securing fasten the other side. Overall great product and will order again if needed.
