great product
If you have never tried these...you soak them in water/broth for 10-15 minutes drain, cook them I love to put them in BBQ sauce with onions and garlic for pulled pork (like) sandwiches. I am vegan and made some for our church BBQ.... they served pulled pork....my crock pot was the one that everyone ate, and they were so surprised that it was so very good. Great value, shelf stable, taste and smell great cooking , 11 grams protein and 6 grams fiber per serving. I bought a bag, and the rest, as they say, is history. If you’re new to soy curls, how to prep them, and how to roast them to easily add heartiness and delicious texture to an array of plant-based dishes. I use them in Soups, chilis, curries, and stews, and wraps Taco, tostadas, and enchiladas, Stir-fries and pasta, Chicken-less chicken classics, like soy curls with orange sauce or Buffalo sauce. Google recipes like I did using Soy Curls.

Perfect meat substitute
There we as a time period a few years back where I couldn’t have most meats for a period of of time for medical reasons but I was craving it really bad. I was in college when I tried this product and it was amazing. Essentially it tastes like whatever you flavor it in. The texture isn’t 100% meaty but it’s really close. This was such a blessing product for me during that time. It’s very versatile and easy to make. Most times I would just do them in the microwave and mix it with rice and soy sauce.

Texture is fantastic, taste is whatever you want it to be. Best vegan meat sub you’ll find.
These things are amazing. I can’t sing their praises enough. The texture is always what fails with meat subs. I’ve gotten tofu down pretty well with practice, but these are so much easier and require fewer steps and the texture is spot on perfect. The only thing I will use tofu for now is tofu steaks. No hate on the tofu, but to get it right you have to freeze it, thaw it, press it, slice it, marinate it, cook it, and add it to your dish at the exact right moment or risk ruining your hard work. This stuff is practically effortless in comparison. For this chili, I rehydrated the soy curls in warm No Beef Bullion for about ten minutes. While they were soaking, I chopped my veggies and stuck them in a large bowl. Then I dumped the soy curls and the liquid in the bowl and then picked just the curls out and put them in a strainer, and pressed the liquid out. I chopped them into a mince and cooked them a little in a pot, to dry them just a little more. Then I set them aside and dumped the bowl in to cook the veggies in an oil-free sautee. When the liquid cooked mostly out out I added the soy curl mince and the spices and cooked for a couple minutes, then added the beans and fire roasted tomatoes (with juice) and simmered for 20 minutes. The result was the best vegan chili I’ve eaten since giving up meat. If I didn’t make it myself I would swear there was actual hamburger in there. I’ve made taco “meat”, “chicken” chili, “chicken” and dumplings, peanut noodles with “chicken”, “beef” and broccoli, and fajitas. It’s at least as good as anything premade, but as it’s a whole soy product, rather than a high sodium processed faux-food, it’s so much healthier. I will be using these constantly. Way more than I did tofu. It’s just so much easier and the results are more consistent. I love these things!!!

Super yummy!!!!
I’ve been deacon for 12 years now and this is the first time I’ve tried these. Why did I wait so long!? They are so yummy! I just rehydrated with some purified water than squeezed out the excess. Pan fried with some salt, pepper and garlic, and I ate them right out of the pan. Can’t wait to experiment with these in my recipes. Don’t hesitate to try they are so worth it!

Pretty decent
EDIT: the crumbs are awesome for making low carb/keto breading for chicken!!! Save them and spice them up, dip chicken in a little flour (if not doing keto - use a little lupin flour or leave flour out instead), in egg and than the spiced soy crumbs, fry on medium (higher heat will burn the crumbs) .. The way the 3 bags are smushed together in a plastic bag that would normally fit 1-2 bags in it max, results in lots of fine crumbs and small pieces!! For basically $8 a bag for 5 small servings each, these could be protected/packed together better!! So although i usually don't eat soy products, never been a big fan...i got this to try for the purpose of trying to fix my post-menopause symptoms that won't ease up the natural way.. i started taking NOW Soy Isoflavones 60mg supplement twice a day 2-3 days ago and was reading up and saw that adding 'soy protein' is also recommend as well. I did not want to mess with tofu, miso and all that so when i saw these and saw they would be simple & quick to make and be good as an add-in into other foods to meet my 25 grams of 'soy protein' (1 1/3 servings - 40 grams dry) per day, i decided to try it... not bad at all i must say, i soaked 40g in water for about 20mins, drained, sautéed/fried them dry in bacon fat, added salt/pepper/red pepper flakes and mixed it into ledo's leftover mac & cheese and added cheddar cheese.. was pretty good, kinda like chicken actually however, the bigger pieces were bland some so definitely will be soaking future portion in salt water and maybe even chicken broth.. Price is not too bad overall, will order and stock up on these again for sure..

These things are game changers! Where have these been all my life?!?!
Yummmm! I like these a lot! And I'm usually NOT a fan of meat analogs or tofu. In fact we're usually omnivores... but my husband's cholesterol got high, so we're changing our diet. I wish I had known about these sooner in my life. After watching some YouTube reviews of these, I bought a bag to try. I'm so glad I did! They're not EXACTLY like chicken strips, but honestly once you get the corn meal breading on there and are dipping them in barbecue sauce, they're a good enough facsimile. You could probably feed these to the kids and get away with it. If I ranked them next to frozen fake chick'n strips, the frozen kinds would be about a 2 and these would be an 11! Yeah they go all the way up to 11! To prepare them, I did the following: - Obtain 1 large handful of soy curls (I didn't measure) - Soak in boiling water to rehydrate, for about 15 minutes. Drain and squeeze out the excess water, set aside. Mix up: - 1 small can of tomato sauce - 2 tsp liquid smoke - 1 tsp onion powder - 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar - 1 tbsp maple syrup - 1 cup of vegetable or mushroom broth Or basically anything else you might think tastes good as a marinade. I was thinking "tangy umami" as a flavor profile. Soak the curls in this marinade for an hour or so. Or overnight. Who cares. Then, preheat the oven to 385. While it's heating up, mix together: - 1 cup of coarse cornmeal - 1 tsp salt - 1 tsp pepper Drain the soy curls out of the marinade, toss them in the corn meal mixture to coat, and put them on an oven tray. Bake them until crispy and lightly browned, serve immediately with dipping sauces. This is a completely vegan recipe. There is no need to use oil for these, nor should you deep fry them - save yourself the calories! They'll hold up to deep frying, but why bother with the mess and calories and all that, ugh! A simple tray bake is FINE. Butler Soy Curls. Okay. There's a reason why people buy 'em by the BOCKS. I really wish I'd known about these earlier in my life. Honestly I don't even get why, if your favorite kind of chicken is chunks or strips of breast meat (which is how most people eat chicken these days anyway), why you'd even bother to BUY chicken if these are available. The ingredient list is short: "whole soybeans". The curls are cheap, especially when compared to buying meat. The prep is easy. They're plant based and a whole food. No sugar, salt, or oils added - you can add whatever you like, or don't. Diabetic friendly. I would dare say, keto friendly. No danger of salmonella contamination during the prep, no slimy chicken juice, no slicing. And I bet, if I chop up some of these in my food processor and season them up, they'll make a wonderful ground beef substitute, too. Looking for a nice veg substitute for chicken? Give these a whirl. You might like them!

Excellent Product - Packaging Issue
Update- Rating drop. I think they started using a smaller box to ship bulk orders. The packages were so jammed in the box. They soy curls were crushed and crumbly this time making the texture undesirable. Doubt I order again because cost wise really took a hit this time. Order this time and time again!!! Amazing delicious product. We buy in bulk to save money. I just soak and pan fry with some boillion. Excellent protein choice and great for meal prep. Love that its shelf stable. Never stop selling this PLEASE!!!
