instantly works, plug in
I travel and work a lot from vacation rentals where I like to use a TV screen instead of my tiny work lap-top. I found stringing long HDMI cables across rooms where people need to walk to be nerve-wracking and hazardous. Needed a wireless option, and was not disappointed with this one.Once the HDMI ends are all plugged in, turn on the TV and computer, and presto! Everything works. No special set-up, no need to do anything extra to sync the ends, no downloading software, no fiddling with buttons and praying to the digital gods. What a happy surprise! The other thing to note is both ends do need power. Since batteries wouldn't last long and I spend HOURS at a computer, I was specifically looking for something to plug in to power the ends. The TV end requires a regular 120 volt wall plugin. The computer end has a USB cable for power. You can plug the USB end into your PC computer, or use a USB power outlet (I carry a surge protector with USB plugins).I love it!

Stopped working in a week
Tried to connect PC to HDTV using 1080P. Worked for a while - about a week, then the transmitter started repeating connection and disconnection to the PC. PC kept trying to set the display whenever the transmitter discnnoected and re-connected - almost every minutes, and it makes both PC and TV non-usable. Tried source and display (notebook and Monitor), and same problem. When I downgraded the signal (1080P to 720P), it worked for a while (about an hour) without the issue, then it repeated the problem again for 720P signal. For the price, it is big disappointment. Unfortunately, I installed the product weeks after I received it from AMAZON, and the free return window is closed when the problem happened. AMAZON just told me to deal with the manufacturer directly, and I emailed the manufacturer. Hope they accept the return...

Wonderful, but overheats
Having used the Nyrius Aries Pro+ Wireless HDMI for a bit over a month, we're looking for another solution. It overheats which causes it to quit. It connected quickly and easily. Picture quality is very good. Lag is barely there - perfectly watchable. Range in line of sight is good. Putting a person in a chair between the tx and rx 12 ft. away can cause interference which shows up as occasional momentary dropouts. Overall, my big disappointment is that this gets hot and quits, otherwise, I'd love it.Update: The TX failed completely about 9 months in. Nyrius honored the warranty and sent a replacement unit. A couple minor hoops to jump through, but nothing unreasonable. So let's keep them in the Good Company category and hope they continue to improve their products. I have another unit in service currently but I'll update if this one later causes trouble.Don't be afraid to get these Nyrius units - there isn't anything better at the moment, and there's been a few years for the competitors to try. Just chalk it up to a very difficult feat. My suggestion is to have them fully off when not in use, as this should prolong the life. Good luck!

Needs stability
This is the second nyrius product I have had and the Aries pro + which overheated and almost caused a fire in my home. This transmitter also cuts out for some reason even within 15 feet of eachother. Iโm still trying to figure out which one is best. When it does work itโs great but itโs not reliable for me personally sadly. Great idea and price if it was reliable.

Great picture and sound; ZERO audio latency
I ran several test with this unit. I connected my laptop (via USB / HDMI) and the transmitter. The far end was a simple 27" monitor with the receiver / USB power adapter. The results were amazing. Set up was very simple, I literally turn them on and they paired on their own at 1080P. I tested streaming a show from my laptop and gradually started walking out of the room with the monitor in clear site. I was able to walk out away from the receiver about 120' before signal was interrupted. This was more than enough range for me as I installed the units in a room that is only 30' wide X 35' length. I ran a audio synch test from my laptop to visually compare audio latency and there was virtually ZERO lag. Quite impressive! I ended up installing the transmitter inside of a wooden cradenza on an Stereo receiver and installed the receiver on a ceiling projector. The results were amazing. I would def purchase again.

Unreliable and stopped working after awhile
My receiver was only 50 feet away from the receiver. When it was cool and not in use then it would work for awhile until it warmed up after being plugged in for awhile. This is not a reliable solution.

Worked somewhat reliability then stopped
I used this receiver for a display at my church it would work 90% of the time without any hickup but then a year later it would flicker easy and I noticed it getting really hot. Now two years later it no longer wants to pair to the receiver and I'm stuck with some broken tech. Might be on the budget side of these things but you get what you pay for.

Totally WORKS for me
I am using this to transfer video from my home theater to my outdoor TV. It is going about 20-25 feet through an outside wall. Totally works. No drop outs. The sound is spot on in sync with the picture. A few things to understand- first and foremost is line of sight. In order to really get top notch performance, I had to point the receiver towards the home theater & transmitter. I got a small HDMI pig tail and used a command strip to attach it to the wall behind the equipment rack pointing at the receiver. Additionally, when I do fire it all up, it does take a few minutes to handshake and then determine which channel has the best signal. Once it does handshake, it is rock steady. But again, it may take a few minutes to get there.

Waste of money!
Such a disappointment and waste of money. I have botched someone's wedding livestream because if this. It tests fine in a small room but any more than 5 meters it cuts out. It's a complete waste of money and false advertised. We've tested it multiple times and same thing very poor signal and constantly drops connection over 5 meters.

Disappointed
Very disappointed, the receiver and transmitter lose connection after device powers off and you struggle to reconnect
