I was failing impressed by this amazon basics tool. I needed for work travel and didn’t want to bring my expensive tools incase they got lost or confiscated. The ratchet works the handle is comfortable. The bits in the handle are great and out of the way

I haven't used it a lot so far but when I have it's done a good job of hanging onto screws via the magnet feature and the ratcheting function works well, making inserting or removing screws quicker and easier than it would otherwise be. A good investment I think. It has a variety of bits that should meet most of a typical user's needs. Fits well in my hand too, making it even easier to use. Would be handy in a few cases to have an extender to help reach things from more of a distance.

This Amazon Basics ratcheting screwdriver is packed with features at an affordable price. It comes with an assortment of interchangeable driver bits including flat-blade, Phillips, star and hex. Anyone assembling Ikea furniture will appreciate the 4-mm and 5-mm hex bits. The included bits have a standard base and are held in place magnetically, making the driver handle compatible with readily available driver bit sets from various manufacturers. It will be easy to replace a lost or worn out bit, thereby extending the life of the tool. You may also want to get some square bits and ball-driver hex bits to round out your collection. One hidden feature of the tool is that with no bit in place, it will common hex-head screws. The driver shaft has a knurled section making easy to grip by hand or with pliers if necessary. The shaft itself is held in place in the handle by a combination of magnets and a spring-loaded ball bearing. The shaft is easily removable for compact storage in your toolbox. I have a 6-inch-long Phillips driver bit that can be mounted directly in the handle without the shaft. This can be convenient for deeply recessed fasteners or otherwise tight quarters. You may be able to find other accessories to fit the handle. My only complaint with the tool is that the bit storage container, which is built into the handle, can be difficult to open. It is held in place by plastic tabs that must be compressed to release the container, and I find that it can take some fiddling to get it open. This may resolve itself with use. I have another ratcheting driver in my toolbox. It has fewer features and cost more, making this Amazon Basics tool a great value. On the other hand, the more expensive driver has a better build quality. Nevertheless, the Basics tool gets the job done and I usually carry it on my toolbelt.

So i disassemble and rebuild swimming pool motors, so it's a lot of electrical work. 75% of the bolts at work are 1/4 inch size and today was my first day using this at work after using a shorter small handle nut driver and WOW! This is my new favorite little tool at work. I used it literally all day long taking the through bolts out and removing the circuit board screws and it made my job so much easier. For one i used an extension so that gave me leverage, but also the handle is much thicker and easier to grip than my old standard nut driver. The ratcheting feels smooth and i didn't have any trouble adjusting the direction or with it switching directions on me or like i saw some reviews complaining about. Im also extremely left handed and it works fine for me. Honestly i was worried about it breaking my first day with how rusted and tight some of the bolts can be at work, but it held up just fine! My Co workers both have identical $150+ Matco Tools versions, and don't get me wrong i would LOVE those but they are way out of my price range. So for paying less than $20 i couldn't be more happy with it so far. If it lasts me 6 months and i have to buy another it's even worth it!

Ok I bought this literally after LTT showed their finished screwdriver off and gave a price of 70 bucks so i was like nope (probably as good as they show and worth the money I just cant justify it) but, in that live stream they showed off many of the competition and showed the Amazon Basics one and he literally said it was one of his favorites and for the price basically couldn't be beat (for price). I have now assembled 1 complete PC with only using this and replaced fans and an AIO on another with this and a stubby HF screwdriver. So far I do love it and it will be going in my car tool bag and I might buy a second to keep in the junk draw. 1. Just a few critiques the ratcheting selector kind hard to turn but I'm sure it will get easier as more and more use. 2. Wish it had a stronger magnet. 3. I wish the bit storage release had bigger tabs just wider would be great since the current tabs are hard to push but it is getting easier. 4. The other thing I wish it came with either better selection of bits or maybe some extra that you could swap out the ones you don't use. This is easily fixed since it does just use the normal bits so can probably pick them up anywhere. I do just compare this to maybe harbor freight but both their ratcheting screwdrivers store the bits outside of the screwdriver. which they are cheaper but not enough to even make me consider them and I do actually like HF tools for their price.

This screwdriver has interesting features, and if they all worked, this would be a 5 star review. On the positive side, the ratcheting function seems to work well. It doesn't have every bit I need, but it does have a good assortment. Hitting the top sides of the handle to let the bit tube pop up works...almost. The bits on the top can comfortably be removed, but the tube doesn't extend enough up so that you can easily remove the bits on the bottom half. You need a knife or something to pry them off as the bit gets caught at the lip of the cap. The other design issue is the depth of the shank (metal bar part of the screwdriver) into the handle. I'm sure that the shallow base that holds the shank in the handle is due to the space needed for the tube that holds the bits, but it would have helped if it was about another half inch deeper. It just comes out too easily. For the money, it's handy for simple uses around the house, but it's not for someone that needs this tool for work

I have 2 the Original with the knurling on the shaft with the round design and the newer hex shaft. Sad but the Original design was way better the knurling is lightyears better than the hex design for using it. I have dropped mine and the back piece has piece broken off and I have lost two bits but they are compatible with the generic bit sizes and replaced easy. They grip well and a good weight to it. For as cheap as they are I highly recommend. You will have a bit of wiggle on it with it being detachable but that is expected unless you want to spend $80 and buy an LTT precision ratcheting screwdriver.
