CAP Barbell Standard Grip Plate

These are decent, cheap, 25-pound plate weights. I needed plate weights to help weigh down my punching bag stand (the thing would slide around after a good hit). These were the cheapest that I could find, and they look good, they're easy to carry, and they fit my punching bag stand (Everlast 4812).Some people grumbled about the boxing. Mine came in individual boxes; two were dinged up, one was okay. They're 25-pound weights in cardboard boxes; the boxes are gonna get smashed up (unless they're the perfect size for the weights; mine were not). The weights themselves were completely undamaged and unscratched. Perfect as far as I'm concerned.

The product shown and described has “3 hole grip[s]”. However, the product I received has 100% fewer hole grips; see included image. The advertised hole grips contributed greatly to the purchase decision. The ratio of ‘received hole grips’ to ‘advertised hole grips’ is directly proportional to my satisfaction. Thus, I am completely unsatisfied. The product’s color difference has no impact to this rating.

Good price, fair quality. But here's the issue that I have: I ordered six plates, received 2 shipments with three plates each. That would have been fine, but the plates were clearly of different qualities. The only reason I'm not returning the three lower-quality plates is because I'm only using them to weigh down some equipment.

Great ( 5 pound) plates at a reasonable price. BUT... there is a difference in the color paint when I ordered different sizes. I ordered two which were a mid-to-dark olive and the ones I ordered in the other sizes (4 plates of 7.5 lbs. and 4 at 10 lbs.) were like a charcoal with maybe a hint of olive. They really need some QC in the paint department. That's not such a big deal, but THIS IS… The price went up by OVER 300%!!! I wanted to buy two more of this size (5#) so I would have a full set for two barbells but this price (currently $15) is ridiculous! Even their 10# weight is almost half the price of this (at the time of this posting, $7.90) and way less than a buck a pound. If they get back to a decent price I will order two more five pound and just hope the paint matches the older two.

These pair well with the curl bar. The side grips, this allows you to do various workouts with the plates off the bar.

For the price these plates are fine. I especially like the open design and handholds for swapping plates. I was (and still am) satisfied with these, BUT did notice that I received the more roughly cast version compared to photos from other reviews (which might account for the recent price drop that finally prompted me to buy these). They still feel smooth to the touch and will not be rough on your hands, but there was a noticeable casting blemish on one of the two plates I purchased. It's really not enough to affect anything but is the main reason I dropped my score to four stars. However, I don't think you will find a better or even equal product at this price point, and if you actually notice any of these blemishes once you start your workout then it's probably not vigorous enough! These are a perfect match for the CAP Barbell CAP Barbell Threaded Standard Bar, 1-Inch, 250-Pound Capacity, 5-Feet.

I wanted four of the 5-lb weights, but Amazon for some reason limits this to just 3 per order, so I only ordered two. Oddly, one received was dark gray and shiny with more defined edges, and the other was lighter gray with a more matte finish and rounder edges. One had a warning label about including materials that are a health risk, while the other didn't. For the few dollars they cost I'll just keep them, but if I had paid more for the larger weights, I would probably have returned them since they didn't match.

Nice weight plates, however, they are not the lighter silver colored pictured, they are darker, a charcoal gray metal.Might not matter to some, but if you have a set already in the lighter metal, than this will not match your barbell/dumbbell set-up.Also, the stickers the manufacturer uses are horrific to remove.

Nice weight. But I went and did the “buy three together” option where it showed the weights, weight stoppers, and bar. I got one weight. One weight.
