Would recommend. The definitely work!
I would definitely recommend these diet detector strips. The number of high blood sugars it has prevented from fast food restaurants messing up and giving full sugar soda is quite literally a life saver.

Life savers.
They work as advertised. I made sure to test them at home with diet vs. Regular pop and they few I tested worked. I work on over the road so I use them a lot and honestly? Mix ups happen way more often than you might think. Great product.

These work, no more drive-thru drink ambiguity!
***update: SERIOUSLY, BUY THESE. I ordered a Coke Zero online with my lunch today. The restaurant only had Diet Coke and whoever filled my order decided that regular Coke was the best alternative, no one told me they didn't have it. They just poured me a cup of liquid sugar instead and passed it through the window to me. Tested the drink in the parking lot - strip turned brown immediately. Went inside and got my drink replaced. These things are awesome.*** I am so glad these strips are available! I have had to dump questionable beverages purchased through the drive-thru several times and I got really tired of doing that. I tested on a Baja Blast Zero from Taco Bell - blue square, we're good! I got a drink today that definitely did not taste like a Diet Dr. Pepper. Sure enough, tested it and got a brown square (not a diet beverage). A necessity that I carry in my purse now.

Truly does work
Was very impressed at how well it showed you the difference between diet and regular soda. Really does work. No more worrying about if a restaurant accidentally gave me a regular soda :)

Diet vs. Regular Drinks
These DietDetector test strips are a straightforward and useful tool for one specific purpose—confirming whether a drink is actually diet or contains sugar. In situations like restaurants or drive-thrus where mix-ups can happen, this provides a quick way to double-check before taking a sip. The strips are easy to use and give results in about a minute. The color chart is simple enough to read, and it’s clear when a drink contains sugar versus when it doesn’t. For peace of mind alone, they do exactly what they’re intended to do. This isn’t a precision tool—it’s designed strictly to answer the yes-or-no question of “is this a diet drink?” Within that role, it works well and is convenient to carry when you’re on the go. Pros: • Quick confirmation of diet vs. regular drinks • Easy to use with fast results • Helpful in real-world situations where mistakes happen • Small and portable Cons: • Limited to basic detection (not detailed results) • Requires using a strip each time you test Verdict: A practical and reliable way to verify you received a diet drink when it matters. It does exactly what it’s meant to do and adds an extra layer of confidence when ordering beverages outside the home.

Life saving and life changing
These Diet Detector Strips have saved me more times than I can count. They fit perfectly in any wallet, pocket, or bag, so I keep them on me at alllllll times. There is nothing more heartbreaking than craving a crispy, ice-cold fountain Diet Coke after work, pulling into the McDonald's drive-thru, taking that first giant sip expecting sweet, bubbly happiness... and realizing they gave you a regular instead. If you're a Type 1 diabetic, you already know what comes next: the blood sugar spike, the nausea, the headache. Now, before I take that first sip, I test it with one of these strips. It takes just a few seconds and gives me so much peace of mind. Such a tiny thing, but it's helped me avoid countless unexpected highs and lets me enjoy my crispy Diet Cokes safely and stress-free.

The answer to my prayers. (Specifically detects GLUCOSE!!)
I often found myself dumping full sodas that I had paid for because they "didn't taste right" and I didn't want to risk it; I am not diabetic but am trying to keep my calorie intake reasonable for my size and a large soda would be several hundreds of calories difference if given normal vs. diet. These are wonderful, and I love that you get two separate tubes of strips in each box so I can keep one in my car for drive-through trips and one at home for delivery foods! I do wish the strips and their case were a bit shorter; they don't need to be as long as they are which is wasting material + making the strips take up more space than needed. If they were shorter they could fit in a pill-case keychain which would be great! I would just trim my strips and put in a different case, but I'm not sure if the materials in my pill-case (metal of some sort) would interfere with the strips' accuracy, so I don't. Just the smallest of gripes and not a big deal, though. The strips are wonderful and I'll be buying these for the rest of my life I'm sure! NOTE: The manufacturer has a notice above that talks about how these work; they detect high fructose corn syrup which is the typical sweetener used in non-diet drinks. It MAY NOT WORK on sodas sweetened with other sugars. I'm a dietitian and the basics are that "sugar" can be many compounds. "Table sugar" like you might mix to "test" these strips is 50% glucose, 50% fructose, and that molecule is bound together chemically. Thus, when it is in water in a cup, it is *still* sucrose, not glucose + fructose separately. It is not until after consumed that your digestive enzymes break that bond and turn the sucrose into glucose + fructose separately. Sodas in the US are typically flavored with HFCS, high fructose corn syrup. HFCS has different formulations, but in soda it is usually 55% fructose to 45% glucose. However, unlike in table sugar, this fructose and glucose have already had the molecules broken apart and is actually in solution as fructose and glucose before being consumed. These strips detect *GLUCOSE*, not sucrose (table sugar), fructose (fruit sugar), etc. Thus if you try to "test" these with a mixture of table sugar or juice you may find they are giving negatives because they are detecting unbound glucose. I have tested this myself since I happen to be a researcher in a nutrition lab which studies the effect of different sugars, so I have them all separate in bags. You can see in my images that I have made mixtures of water+dextrose (another name for glucose), water+fructose, and a diet soda. The only strip that had a positive was the dextrose (glucose) strip. And so if your drink has unbound glucose (such as in HFCS or pure glucose) it will detect it, but it may fail to detect other sweeteners with bound glucose.

These identify HFCS but not Sugar.
Test strips detect HFCS high fructose corn syrup and or glucose used in standard soft drinks. Test strips did not detect sugar used in sweet tea. So continue to taste it 1st. These would be useful to detect a mix up at a drive through or in a restaurant with a diet drink.

Works well
These work amazingly well. When we go out and many times when you ask for diet soda and they do not give you diet soda. Now we can check them. It saves your blood sugar from spiking when your a diabetic due to human error. So yes these are fantastic. Thank you.

Works and convenient!
Following a low carb diet and worried about restaurants and bars accidentally serving non diet drinks. These sticks work perfectly, i’ve tested them in both diet and drinks with sugar and they quickly show the difference. Excellent product with very convenient storage small tube for the test strips so can be carrying about easily.

Can't believe I didn't know these existed!
I can't believe I had not heard of these before! They are amazing. I have been mistakenly given sugary soft drinks many times, mostly because the staff members did not pay attention when I would ask for sugar free drinks. I carry these test strips in my bag and I always feel safe when ordering non bottled drinks.

I would buy again for sure
I am in the Dominican and asked for a Diet Coke, they brought me a pop I tasted it and said this doesn’t taste like diet so I tried a strip and it turned the dark colour. Called the server back and said this isn’t diet, I am type 1 dietetic I need diet it’s not a joke so she took it and brought me another pop, said this is diet so I tried a other strip and it turned light blue!! Tasted it and it tasted like diet I was amazed!! These are amazing for travelling especially

Game changer
These are brilliant. I don’t quite use them as intended but rather, I use them to help identify sugary drinks and weed out drinks with artificial sweeteners which make me very ill. Obviously a bit of guess work is required on my part but having put them to use and seen them work for various beverages, I am very confident that anyone needing them to rule out sugar would find them very reliable.
