The battery in my unit lasted about 5-1/2 hours on high before it started to go dim - THIS WAS OUT OF THE BOX AND BEFORE I CHARGED IT! It came with a 110 volt charger and a charging cord to plug into a USB port. I am definitely going to buy another one before frogging season next year! I will agree that it is big and a bit heavy, but that can be overlooked if you are looking for a bright light - it's not too uncomfortable. The battery pack is just behind the light. If the pack was behind the head and the light was in the front - it would be perfect! HINT, HINT!!!!!! IF you are looking for a light to see close objects, this light is not for you, but if you need to see objects farther away, this is the perfect light. My buddy went with us and had a flashlight and was showing me how bright it was, but when I showed him this light and turned it on, he put his up! His $100 light put out no where near the light this headlamp puts out.
