Hi Rachel,I was unfamiliar with quinoa, but I looked at a picture of some (shown in a teaspoon for scale). I think it will fall through. I would try to find a finer sieve with a screen-like steel mesh. D.

Does this colander easily dent or become misshapen? The perforations make the walls seem rather fragile.

Amazon included this colander in a large box that constaned several heavy items. The colander was found dented upon arrival. It was returned and re-ordered. It is otherwise a very nice colander.
