Great light
Bought this to put outside a warehouse building and light up the outside of our exit door and parking lot for employees. This replaced a pretty standard 2 bulb fixture that had 1200 lumen bulbs (each) that had quit working. This is much brighter and fits our needs very well. The motion detector picks us up immediately as we come out the door even though we're 90 degrees to the side of it (the light is about 10 ft down the same wall that the door is on), and picks up motion well out into the parking lot for anyone arriving. The photo sensor works very well to prevent it from coming on during the day. The building has a 10 ft overhang across the front which covers a sidewalk area between the parking lot and building. The original light was in a ceiling junction box about 8 ft out from the building/exit door, and I had planned to just mount this light there. This light didn't work as well as the old light in that situation, but it wasn't a good location even for the old light, and the seller clearly stated this light is designed to be mounted vertically, not horizontally... so I'm not knocking any stars. I installed a new junction box on the wall, which was really the preferred set up for our situation regardless of which light fixture we chose, and simply installed a cover plate over the old ceiling junction box. I think the light can work well ceiling mounted in certain situations even though the seller doesn't recommend it and it didn't work for our particular situation, which I consider to be unusual. I'll go into more detail below about the ceiling mount issues for those interested that don't mind the length... The problem was the ceiling box was 8 ft out in front of our exit door (and a few feet to the right). We wanted the motion detector to pick us coming out of that door (behind the light) but also pick up movement in the parking lot (in front of the light), which means we were basically wanting to get 360 degree detection with 180 degree detector. So what we did as a compromise was turn the light fixture so that the motion detector was facing "sideways" instead of either towards the door or towards the parking lot. We then aimed the detector so that it barely caught the door opening to it's far left limit of vision, and we then lived with it's limited detection view of the parking lot to it's far right side. So we had a situation where the motion detector needed to look west, but the lights need to shine north, and the amount of swivel adjustment on the motion detector arm is limited. So basically the base of the fixture is facing NW, the adjustment on the motion detector was maxed out to get it looking west, and now the lights need to face north. The old light with 2 single independent light bulbs were easier to aim as needed, but with this light have long light bars on each side of 3 lights each, it was harder to aim them as needed. The problem is each light bar arm only has adjustment movement on 2 planes, and needed to have adjustment on all 3 planes for our situation. To get them facing north when the base is facing NW, they have to be turned so one side angles way down and the other side angles way up (an the ceiling becomes an issue on that side). That makes it look really bad not being symmetrical, and the low hanging side being more at risk to getting hit/broken. Also with the light fixture being 8 ft in front of the door and aimed away from the door (towards the parking lot), the door area only received "bleed light" and wasn't well lit. Now with the new junction box moved back on the same building wall as the exit door, the 180 degree motion detector provides full coverage of the entire area, the 2 plane adjustment for each light bar side is adequate, everything stays symmetrical/aesthetically pleasing, and the exit door is better lit as well as the parking lot. If you want to ceiling mount with motion detection, I think it will work fine as long as you can face the base, motion detector, and lights all in the same direction. You can rotate the motion detector arm 180 degrees on the ball socket joint to keep it oriented correctly and you can maintain a symmetrical profile when adjusting the light bar directions. We ran into ceiling mount problems only because we needed the motion detector to face one way and the lights to point a different direction. If you want to use this in dusk-to-dawn mode instead of motion mode, I suspect the light reflection off the ceiling could increase a flickering issue. I did not try ours in dusk-to-dawn mode, so I can't say for sure, but noticed other reviews mentioning flickering problems in dusk-to-dawn mode.

Super bright, has to be hardwired in
First off, this light has to be hardwired in. If you don't have electrical experience and are unable to have someone else do the electrical work, this probably isn't the light for you. If you are comfortable with wiring this in, I can certainly recommend this light if you're looking for something bright, as this is really bright, has a motion sensor, which can be adjusted for sensitivity based on distance, has a dusk to dawn feature, which can be adjusted based on how dark you want it to be before this turns on, and as a motion light can be adjusted to stay on for 1 to 10 minutes. This light is not dimmable, so you have to be comfortable with how bright it is. However, the lights are on two arms that rotate and articulate, so there's a lot of adjustment in regards to where you want the light to go when it turns on. If you wire it into a switch, you can also have it so that it just stays on like a regular house light, which is what I intend to do with it. As you can see from my picture, it's not wired into my house yet. Where I live, there's a lot of snow and ice right now, and it's very cold, so I'm going to wait until the weather is nicer before I replace my side porch light with this. However, I do have a temporary use for it right now, which is why it's wired to an old microwave cord. This is obviously not what the manufacturer intends for people to do with this light, but I wanted to use it inside as a light source until I'm ready to move it outside. Difficulty of installation will vary depending on your circumstances and where you're able to get the wires. Replacing my porch light with this should be quite easy. The instructions in the book are also easy to follow, as are the instructions for use. The light seems durable, and I quite like its functionality. It does, however, look an awful lot like a satellite out in orbit, so its appearance may not be for everyone. All in all, I'm impressed with this light, and I look forward to seeing how it holds up as time goes by. Fortunately, it has a 5 year warranty, so if anything does malfunction, I'm guaranteed to get my money's worth with this light.

Works great! I mean, like, really great!
I replaced an old unit that has been over the back door to our house for well over 30 years. New ones like this are much, much better! And cheaper! With so many adjustable modes! And way simpler to install as well! I'm going to buy another to replace the one on our garage--which is somewhat newer, but still not up to modern specs! Whoo-hoo! Let there be light! Edit: So I bought the second one and installed it up on the garage end wall over the doors--again, easy as pie to hook up electrically. Works brilliantly. We can now drive up and be all illuminated (physically only, of course), and walk to the house, and be lit up again. This light is bright and far-reaching. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Manufacturer Needs to Correct a Couple Faults
PRO: 1. Very Bright Light. 2. Detection angle is very good, surprisingly good. 3. Detection range is good. 4. Angles of "Direction Adjustment" are very good. 5. Strong, well-built body, it's a solid unit. CON: 1. While the light is "ON," detection sensing is off. In other words, I'm working under this light, and after about 7 minutes it will turn off, even while I'm moving around under it. Of course, it turns back on after a few seconds, but the brief re-setting is very irritating. It can turn off on a worker, immediately after stepping out of range. 2. Adjustment for "Maximum Time ON" is only 7 or 8 minutes. In other words, if one is working out of range, he has to come back into range every 7 or 8 minutes. 3. The hardware does not fit common, American made electrical boxes, (for example, the most popular electrical junction-box sold by Home Depot). While the bolt has a standard SAE thread, it is smaller than typically used in American junction boxes, so the installer has to hunt for hardware that fits the structure's electrical box.

Lights on 24/7
Update 12/17/2025: The company contacted me and issued a full refund, even though the 30-day return window had already passed. I am updating my review to reflect the seller’s excellent customer service. The issue was with the manufacturer, not the seller, and they handled the situation professionally and fairly. If I could give this product less than one star, I would. No matter what setting I choose, D2D, Auto, Motion, or Test, the light stays on all the time during the day and night. I even had to rent an electric ladder to reach the location, and I wasted that rental money, which cost more than the lights themselves. There is clearly no quality control for this product. I do not recommend it.

No motion for me!
Things haven’t been quite as easy as I thought they would be. I finally got around to installing them last night, and the only good news is that the installation was super smooth. Everything seems to work in terms of the lights turning on, but the motion-activated sensors on both aren’t working. After it got dark, I tested them, and neither light worked, and I have a light on both corners in the back of the house. I can manually make the lights turn on, but I can’t make them turn on from the motion activation. I give it one star for installation and brightness, but no other stars will be given until I get them to work as advertised and as expected.

Excellent security light, especially for smaller yards.
I'm very pleased with this light! I had installed a motion sensor light by a different manufacturer for my front yard, and so far been disappointed. Despite spending hours aiming and adjusting the sensor, it's twitchy and easily set off by windblown leaves, etc. So when selecting a light for the back I focused on the sensor, and liked that the Sansi uses an infrared type that picks up only motion by heat sources. Also, since I live in a townhouse with a tiny back yard I was looking for lower light output that won't disturb my neighbors. This 15 watt model is perfect. It was an easy, quick install with great instructions. It's quite bright enough to make any fence jumpers feel utterly exposed, but can be aimed to contain the light within the fenced area. And the sensor? I could not ask for better. After a full week, it's only triggered once where I couldn't determine the source. I love things that just work like they should. The only drawback is the plastic construction, but for $30 I'll be thrilled if it works a couple of years... and when it ultimately dies I'll buy another just like it.

Good quality
Looks seamlessly good. We fit it easily. But need to read manual carefully before installing. It’s not difficult the sensor catching distance.
