CLEP® Natural Sciences Book + Online (CLEP Test Preparation) 2nd Edition

While it isn't all encompassing in terms of what you'll need to know. It is a great help. I used it. Read all the chapters, did the practice tests and passed my test.

It is a good tool to help you pass the natural sciences clep exam, but like any other exam you will need more then just one book. I used this book, insticert.com along with the official clep study guide and got a 60, a 50 is passing. It will give you good information and is a good addition to other materials. It makes the information pretty understandable, especially for someone like me who has not taken a science class in many years. I would recommend this book, but buy others and check out insticert along with the other free clep study guides online. Best of luck!

It's been a long time since I studied this stuff, and this book just touches the surface of what's in the exam. Nothing too detailed. If you're preparing for CLEP using this book, make sure you studied the material not too long ago. If it has been a while, make sure you don't make this your primary resource. There are some good video lectures online that you could refer to in addition to this. This book seems to be aimed at just "getting you through". If you know you can do better, and genuinely want to do better, then I recommend this book just to skim over topics in the last few days, not to actually learn the material.By the way, the things other reviews mentioned about typos, factual errors, and practice exams referring to stuff not covered in the book. Totally true.

There are dozens of aggravating and distracting typos throughout this book, some of which inhibit my comprehension of the actual sentences. Some of their facts are incorrect (and if an English major is picking up on your science mistakes, that's a huge problem!) and many of the questions on their practice exams refer to information NOT COVERED in the book itself. I have yet to take the CLEP exam, so I cannot say if this book was helpful in the end, but I am going to the CLEP site right now to buy THEIR review materials. Incredibly dissatisfied with this purchase.

On 18Feb2014 I took my Natural Science Clep test and did not pass. I religously studied for 2 hours a night for 1,5 months and went on line for test evaluation and scored a 90 out of 240 questions they listed. The test i took had maybe 10 questions that I studied. This has to be the absolute biggest rip off I have ever purchased, it wasited my money and my time. Now I have to pay another $80 for another test, thanks!!

This book helped a lot with the studies but I needed more study aids to supplement this book. I am not the greatest at science and I needed help even understanding some thing in this book even more in depth.

I have not taken the exam yet, but I feel that the information about physics is not enough to be prepared for the exam, I might be wrong, because I don't know how deep the exam goes but I feel insecure taking the exam with only this information. I finish reading the physics portion in 3 days that's how short it is. Physics part of the exam in 50%, so you judge!!!
