The system had great sound coming from cable but the Samsung Smart tv will not play netflix through it. A samsung product plugged into a samsung smart tv should work right?

Save your money and opt for a better home theater
Save your money and opt for a better home theater. Sound is OK for TV use but you'll have to guess what function you're on since display is so dim you can hardly read it. Rear speakers are useless and are hardly functioning. If you're a karaoke buff, forget using any CDG discs you may have because they won't work with this system. 330 Watts insufficient for karaoke use and you will have to ramp up the volume. Also this system has an irritating feature of turning off on its own. Guess you get what you pay for.
