Connecting to a conductivity system (analog eval-cn0359-eb1z) power led comes on, yet neither transceiver led. are drivers needed? can i test system?

Hi,please check this way: 1) Disconnect the connection with analog eval-cn0359-eb1z first, send data to the host computer, and check whether TXD is on. 2) Try to test another USB port . 3) Change to another host computer and check whether the TX or RX lights are normal.

I need this to control the “iot relay”, but since the usb ports are always powered, how can i control the on/off effect with this usb adapter?

This is a RS485 serial port adapter, the serial port is always on. If you have a RS485 relay module, the module will alway be on to, that module will control a relay, that it turns on and off by command over the RS485 serial connection.

Will this work with the usb 2.0 on an rpi 3b? currently, when i hook plug it in, the os finds the adapter but then crashes the rs485 bus.

Works great

I bought this to connect my PowMr all in one solar inverter to Solar Assistant on an Orange Pi. I was using the USB port on my inverter but it suddenly stopped working one day. At first I thought maybe my USB cable was bad so I tried a couple others but no luck. The price is very reasonable and not much more than a USB cable. Very easy to hook up. My inverter uses an Ethernet port for RS485 - I just cut the end off of an old Ethernet cable and hooked up 2 wires to the Waveshare and plugged everything in. Build quality appears to be good. It's been working fine for about a month now.

Did require a driver for me - but it works, and saved me $1k bc it works with Samsung S-Net Pro 2

This says no driver required, but my computer (LG Gram running Windows 11) immediately flagged it as unknown and said it was missing a driver. I found the driver on the ftdichip website and now it works. I'm using it to connect to a Samsung HVAC system. The official Samsung version of this costs 1k. Down with big HVAC!

Works with JBD BMS

Perfect, not too expensive and the extra usb extension is really nice to come with the adapter. The rx & tx lights are useful to see. Simple to install the wires. I tinned the wires just for fun.

Works perfect in linux

This worked perfectly for my application. I have this running with an older Raspberry PI 3 as a pool controller. The dongle powers perfectly off the RPI3's USB ports with no issues. The terminal block for connection is snugly fit into the end so that takes some effort to get out but once connected and re-plugged in everything is very secure and I have no doubts it will stay plugged in.

Connects quickly and seems stable

I use it to connect on BACnet MS/TP devices and networks to change settings on job sites and it's very easy to use. Just make sure of your polarity! If reversed, nothing shows up. I use it with YABE, a free software and it's just perfect, I can see all the BACnet points and change everything I need without issues.
