These allow you to clean the fleshy channels of the inner ear that cannot be done with cotton balls. They're also good for applying or spreading medication to the inner ear if needed. These work great for our large dog. I am able to clean my dogs canal without discomfort to my dog. Much better than trying to use cotton balls.

The quality is wonderful. Tight cotton tips that didn’t come apart. My only suggestion is to make the tips just a little smaller. I have a small dog and the tips are a bit bulky.

Ordered these for my dogs ear infection which required daily cleaning. These were perfect for scooping up the yeast, without having to worry about going too deep. The large applicator allows me to insert in ear, twist and remove with no fuss.

Partly my fault, I ordered the large size on these because my dog is good-sized, around 50 lbs, but they were much too large to fit into his ear canal. As a result, I'm stuck with a whole box of these swabs and have nothing to use them on, and it's back to square one for keeping his ears clean. Perhaps if you have a truly big dog - maybe a full-size Lab, Great Dane, etc, they might work. I tried mashing them smaller, but they are quite firm and that didn't do enough, and trimming them with scissors makes them fall apart, which would leave cotton debris in his ears. In addition, the few I did try to use after mashing the swab part smaller, the stick broke on a couple. It always broke near the midpoint, so it didn't leave the cotton ball end down in his ear, but I'd be concerned about that as well.

These are quality products for cleaning your dogs ears but are better suited for larger dogs. Here’s a comparison to a regular swab for a visual. Not really suitable for my shih tzus unfortunately. But I wouldn’t hesitate if I owned a big dog. These are serious!
