Great Antenna
The quality of the construction was excellent. Easy to assemble. Forty foot in the air above a metal roof. SWR meter shows 1 to1.

Great Antenna but you need to take care of it
Great Antenna but you need to take care of it. I just installed my 2nd CP22E. My first antenna performed great. I was using it on my 2 meter repeater. However, it doesn't handle the weather well. Every few months I had to take the antenna down, take it apart and clean all the places where the parts go together due to corrosion. The joints let too much moisture in causing corrosion. The last time I took it down for cleaning the joint connecting to the upper element to the coil was so corroded that I broke the top element trying to take it apart. Now to the new antenna I just put up. Before installing the antenna I coated all the joints with a conductive grease before putting them together. I also coated all the gaps with silicone sealant after the joints were put together. The reason I bought another one after having problems with the first one was because I really like how well the antenna performs. The cost of the antenna for the amount of performance is awesome in my book. One other thing, I would suggest you use Loctite on all the screws that hold the antenna together because they have a way of loosening in windy areas. This antenna is well worth the money. Just take care of it.

This is a great antenna. I put it on top of a 60' tower with an extension giving me 77' to the top. 35 watts getting me out 30 plus miles over trees and hills. I live in Alaska and am very happy with this antenna. 73's KL3XI
