Good pump if you understand what you’re buying
Not a paid review. This is a good solar pump for the money, I was expecting it to be terrible based on the reviews but it works fine. It does not have a battery, it will only pump when the panel is getting sunlight and it will lose power if a cloud goes over the sun. I have it at the bottom of a five gallon bucket and it gets the water to the top most of the time but it does pulsate in cloudy weather. I think I have it near the max of how high it can pump. This is not going to last forever and if it lasts a year I will be happy. Blow the pump out with a hose occasionally to free up debris. It gave me a moving water bird bath without having to run electricity or spend hundreds on a fountain. If you have realistic expectations about what you’re buying I think you will be happy

Simple, functional fountain pump
Great little solar powered pump! The pump is tiny (@2×2) but powerful enough to move water up a 36" copper pipe to top of a cascading fountain. The pump must be submerged at all times of operation and operates silently. The solar panel is connected with a 9'cord so it can be moved into the sunlight. (Direct sunlight is needed to operate and the pump does turn off if a cloud passes or area of the solar panel becomes shaded, but it starts right up again when the sun shines on it!) It's perfect for my use. Very happy with this purchase🌞

Defective solar panel
While the pump seems to be working fine, the solar panel is somewhat defective. When first attaching it to the pump, while in full sunlight, the output just pulsed on/off. After checking, I found that the solar panel was only putting out 3.2 volts. The label on the pump has a rating of 7 volts. Obviously, the panel is not suppling enough voltage to operate the pump correctly. The pump works correctly after applying 5 volts directly to the pump.

Perfect for DIY birdbath and wildlife fountain
This little solar pump was just the ticket for a DIY solar birdbath and wildlife fountain that I designed.Get a plastic 'barrel' planter for the reservoir ... drill a large enough hole in the side, near the top, to feed the tiny pump through. Position the pump in the bottom of the 'barrel' with the power cord going out through a drilled hole in the side of the barrel - near the top - to the solar panel (which I clipped to an ornamental wire flower). Then take a large planter tray, drill a hole in the center for a length of clear plastic tubing to come up through ... this is your fountain. The tray simply fits over the top of the 'barrel'. Add some small rocks, gravel and twigs for birds to land on.Now, to maintain a constant water level in the tray, use the small funnel that came with the pump as a 'return'. The water comes up through the tube, fills the tray, and depending on how high/low you position the return funnel, the water will stay at that level. Filling the reservoir every few days is easy ... just use your garden hose to fill the top tray, with the water draining through the funnel to the reservoir. When the reservoir is full, it will start to come out that side hole where the power cord feeds out.Anyway, it works great.

Excellent little pump until it broke (less than 2 months)
This was an excellent little pump. The solar panel was extremely powerful, and worked well in direct sun, and even although less powerful and cloudy unfortunately, I only had it for less than two months until the connector for the solar panel broke off in the wind, making it unusable.Unfortunately, it does not come with a stake so you have to just prop it up somewhere. I think this is a flaw, as it makes it susceptible to breakage. If you have a secure place for the solar panel, this would be an excellent pump.

Stopped working after 5 hours -- Can I give this NO STARS?
I was really excited to get this.I built a water fountain for visiting hummingbirds. I have the solar panel placed where it gets unobstructed sun all day long. No shade.I bought this one because it had the most ratings of four and a half stars by over 3,000 reviews. Normally I read them so that I can get a perspective of the worst and the best and then make up my own mind. But I didn't do that as thoroughly as I normally do for such a small purchase. I just went by the amount of ratings that were provided. When I first set this up it was working consistently. The pump seemed powerful and was making the water shoot up almost too high, so I opted to use the bigger sprinkler head to try to limit the height of the showers. The water was shooting up about 6-8 in" with consistent pressure and water. The pump was submerged in about 2 gallons of water. Inside the 2 gallon bucket is a2 liter bottle and inside that bottle is where the pump was situated. This fountain is very well constructed. I used a vinyl hose the same diameter as the pump and sprinkler head. When the morning came, I looked out at the bird bath again and it was cycling between a very low drizzle for about 5 seconds then a short burst of water into the expected operating sprinkler shower, then back to a drizzle for about about 5 seconds again.I checked the water level and it was still full and the pump was still completely submerged. There is an upper tray with small holes in it that caught a couple of pedals from some flowers but nothing made it into the bucket where the pump was situated (Plus the pump sits inside a separate container with holes in it and is very protected against any debris.)Just to be thorough, I unplugged the pump, and changed all the water. Set it back up again and plugged the pump into the solar panel. The pump is still failing to maintain a constant pressure and the drizzling persisted. If you put your finger over the sprinkler head for a second it creates a back pressure that allows the pump to operate as expected. This tells me that the pump is not providing enough push (while the solar panel is in direct sunlight) to allow it to operate as expected. The pump has failed. How can I give this no stars?

An absolutely worthy purchase
I went back and forth on this a few times seeing other reviews. So glad that I finally made this purchase. This particular model has its advantages to some of the others that have solar the panel around the spout. This (Sunlitec Solar Fountain with Panel water p...) allows me to place the panel in a sunlit area and have the actual fountain spout in a shaded place. The wire is of good length. I have this spout placed in a black plastic tub filled with water and I've since added some big pebbles in there. The spout throws water high enough which is good if you have plants around like I do. But most times, I just need a happy gurgling water so I fill water well over the spout. This way I don't have to worry about the water running low or the motor running dry. The water flows up well when there's full sunlight and it's more of a spurting motion when the skies are cloudy or in the evenings. It's easy to set up and a month down, no complaints. I've seen squirrels hunch over to get sip, a pair of mourning doves that perch on the tub rim to drink, a humming bird who hovered over the fountain to drink water, and a few finches too. I also have feeders in the vicinity. All in all a delightful purchase!

Perfect purchase
This is NOT a paid review!!This little fountain is awesome! My test to see how well it worked:I attached the tip I wanted, suctioned it to a bread pan, filled with water (covering the pump but not the tip) and the minute I stepped outside to try it the water started to spray. My findings:A) If the sun hides behind a cloud or a panel is covered (I did with my finger to test) it stops but as soon as the panel is back in full exposure this bad boy kicks up again.B) It does drain your pan of water pretty quickly unless it's set up in a wide enough base to continually recycle through, a birdbath would be perfect size to prevent the pump being out of water - which will destroy it.C) Plus, it's solar so not adding to a bill or wasting resources (the water will be drunk by the cats~ this will give it flow)So worth it, going to buy another! It looks so cool, I can't wait for the little area I bought it for to be set up. My kitten is a weirdo and loves it when the water sprays up as I'm filling the water bowl, she's going to love it!Edit 3.13.20: my outside area is set up. Today I submerged the pump in about a foot of water. It's giving perfect flow to keep the water fresh for my cats. I'll eventually build a better (as in actual) fountain but for now it's pretty dang perfect!Edit: 6.4.20 One of my units stopped working. I cleaned the area it was in, making sure the pump had no chance of running when out of water. I put everything back together and nothing. I reached out to CS to see if thry had any suggestions. Before they had an opportunity to respond I decided to take a wet cloth to the solar panel (I wipe in down every couple of days from the dust build up in my area) and it immediately started up again. This was about 4 weeks ago. Still pumping strong!

Useless Do Not Buy
I bought many solar fountains over the years and never one as bad as this one. The solar panel broke off as soon as I unboxed the fountain, I used super glue to reattach it. It worked for all of 2 days then completely stopped. Cleaned the panel, took the motor apart to inspect then put it back together, nothing worked.
