Works well with my Kawai ES 110 Keyboard
My Kawai ES 100 digital 88-key piano has a beautiful sound that was not captured by its integrated speakers. So, on a lark, I bought this Donner kit to pair with it. I love that the Donner box included everything I needed (no reason to buy another cable): the two-piece power cable, and a 1/4 inch amplifier cable with L-shaped end that plugs into the Mono L output on the left hand back of my ES100. Pop the other end in the little amp and we are off. If you have this exact keyboard, you can turn off the internal speakers by holding down the Function key and hitting C# 7 black key (page 45 of the keyboard manual). This amplifier is CLEAN. That's really key as I can place it 5 feet from my keyboard and there is no feedback and no annoying buzz when I'm not playing. It's just quiet. The volume power is better than the keyboard's internal speakers, matching it at about 60% volume amp to 100% on keyboard internal speakers, if that helps. Frankly, if I was playing to a church group in a middle- to large-sized church, or over other instruments, I would want 35-50 watt amplifier. But for household, small gatherings, this is great. Unlike my internal ES100 speakers, I can modulate the treble, midrange, and bass, which is nice. I can add a second instrument with line 2 in. And it has a 1/4 inch headphone out jack that is better placed for me as this sits aside my keyboard, than the headphone jack in the rear of the piano itself. So, all in all, this Donner 20 watt amp offers many sound improvements and conveniences that are worth the modest price. The only time I don't practice with this amplifier turned "on" now is when everyone else in my house is sleeping (then I use the ES100 internal speakers set low or the headphones). I recommend this amplifier for a home setting.

Useful for a Synth
I use this with my Roland XM and think it works great but could not get a microphone to work with it so had to buy a separate PA. Otherwise no problem, nice and compact.

Good value for the money.
I thought for the money this is a very good amp. I'm only using it for personal home use. The sound is very good. Amount of volume is great, level 1 is very loud and clear. It also is light weight.

The amp sounds good, but there's a HUGE static/hum/buzz noise in the background
I normally do not post reviews when I return something but in this case I thought it was worth doing so as others may be just on the fence about this amp as I was. Bottom-line, if you don't care about noises on the background, this amp sounds good. But if you want quality of sound, go elsewhere. Let's get deeper on the analysis. I got the amp this weekend and got super excited about it. It's smaller than I thought and in my opinion it looks great. Packaging was nice and I was happy to see it came with an audio cable so it's really plug and play for most people. But then, I got my first disappointment: it uses an external power supply. It would be A LOT more convenient and practical to have it inside - and I cannot see how that would impact its size. Anyway, not a big deal - I simply wasn't expecting it and it was a turn off, but all good. I connected the amp to the power outlet, raised the volume and was impressed as there was no noise whatsoever. But finally the moment came. I turned the power off again, connected the provided cable to one of my keyboards and turned it all back on. As I started to raise the voice, a "waving buzz" started playing on the background - very annoying. Still, I played a few notes and changed some settings (treble, bass, etc) and the sound quality was really good for an amp like that. So I thought to myself: it HAS to be the cable, so I decided do some testing here. I got 3 different cables from my "arsenal" and tried one by one. With my best (and expensive cable) the background noise got a little better but it was still noticeable. I have 2 other keyboards so I also tried them. No difference. No matter what I did, the buzz sound would NOT go away. And the louder I had the volume, the more noticeable it would become. Yes, I tried both input jacks as well just in case. While I was playing it was obviously not as noticeable, but nobody plays ALL the time, right? Also, you want an amp that gives you quality of sound - mainly when you have 3 expensive keyboards. Lastly, before giving up completely, I tried plugging one my bass guitars to see if it would sound better. And it actually did. The background sound went from the oscillating/waving buzz to the typical distortion static when you're using a guitar with an overdrive pedal - which was NOT the case. I was simply trying my Fender Jazz Bass on it. I have to be honest - I only tried this because of the price as all other Keyboard amps were a lot more expensive. And it seems now I know why. It's a shame because the amp is not bad. I am not an expert on electronics, but I really believe adding some filter on the input jacks could have made a difference here. I would not bother if it would make SOME noise as all amps do - mainly with string instruments. But with a digital keyboard this is kinda unacceptable. Long story short, returning this baby to Amazon. I will give it a 3-star rating because it looks great and if it wasn't for the background noise, it would have been perfect for my needs. But it's definitely not the case with lots of noise.

Before this one, I never thought of getting in external amp for my keyboard. I picked one (this one) because I was curious to have more controls over my sound, but also because I play guitar with a modeler and I wanted to try it as a keyboard amp is supposed to be transparent. If only for the low-mid-high controls, I now really NEED an amp to play on my keyboard. The sound is so mucu more rich. And having a bigger speaker like this one makes the low notes resonate through your body. Even if it's only 20 watt, its plenty loud, trust me. The amp looks also built very sturdy, that is good for those who want to carry it to different places a lot. One of the best part is that it has an AUX in, so I can plug my laptop/tablet and play with youtube videos. I was really surprised of the sound you can get from this thing as it is really small and lightweight. Secondly, I tried it with my modeler (Hx stomp). I can tell you that is sounds just fine for bedroom playing or for living room jamming with my friends (cajon + bass + guitar). Probably not loud enough for rehearsal with a real drum, but it is not to be expected. The sound quality was surely good enough with the modeler so that I can have fun and not focus on trying to improve the sound, which I ofter do. Finally, I plugged an FX pedal between my digital piano and the amp so I can have crazy reverbs or other effets. It is really a lot of fun let me tell you! This little amp is now my everyday living room companion for guitar and piano. Sits in a corner where I can barely know it's there, and making my playing time way more fun! Just a thought, I didn't try it but as you can also use it with a microphone, and as there is an AUX IN, you could also use it for Karaoke if that's your thing. I am considering adding a second one so I can have one on my left and one on my right, but that is just me being picky about my setup.

I just got this amp, Donner DKA 20 and to use with my electric guitar that I'm learning to play. It is a pretty loud and crisp/clear sound to it. it really sounds amazing! It is rather a compact unit that packs a lot of punch! I have it pictured with my electric guitar for you to see the size comparison. There are 2 inputs, which can be regulated individually. There is one aux in, which I have used to play music from my phone on, there us a headphones jack on it as well, for the times when you just want to practice for yourself. It is sold as a keyboard amp, but it works really well with my guitar and it sounds just great! It's not a very heavy unit and looks to be well built. It is solid. I highly recommend it. It was well packaged, came with the power adapter and a long 1/4" audio cable with an 1/4" to 1/8" gold plated adapter. A very strong and sturdy handle is built-in right on top of this unit. A really nice unit with amazing sound. I am very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend it!
