Good cup of coffee
It's rather inexpensive, which I appreciate, and makes a solid cup of coffee. Sale price made this even more affordable

Good, strong coffee to start the day
Eight O'Clock Coffee is a good strong coffee to start your day with, and a cut above most of what you find in the grocery store, but in my experience, only the Original is good like that. I love their Caramel Macchiato for its flavor, but it's a weaker brew using the same settings and same amount of water. So I will stick with the original and use creamer to flavor it how I like. As far as buying it here, I got this 36 oz bag for $10 and some change, and that was a good deal. A week later I see the price has nearly doubled. Fortunately, I will get a good amount of time out of my 36 oz. bag. I might have to set a price alert or something. $12 or under, buy it. Otherwise... maybe check sales at local grocery stores. The 12 oz bags go BOGO all the time around here. You can do a little better than Eight O'Clock, but not at the same price. There are a couple Starbucks varieties I like more, but they're not sold in stores and are very expensive online (like $20+ for 12 ounces). Death Wish, while not as strong as people say, is alright, but not for the price. If you want strong coffee that also tastes good, you've found it โ now you just need to find a good price on it. And again, stick with the Original if you want a strong cup that is not too bitter.

Makes fine coffee
Sadly, after all these years, I have become something of a coffee snob, but not a gourmet-type snob, just a regular-joe snob. Would not give a quarter for a cup of Starbuck's coffee, but I do like this stuff. I put five well rounded measuring device portions and eleven cups of water in each batch of coffee I make with Eight O'Clock ground coffee and it makes ten ups of coffee in the caraffe. It is strong and full bodied enough for me and I drink it all day. It does not get bitter when heated for 120 seconds in the microwave later in the day. Good flavor, too. I do like it.

A Go-to
Since moving to 100% remote work in March, I have gone through probably close to ten of these giant 36 oz bags. Just for myself, to be clear. But somehow the few people that do drop by (family) always ask me to make them coffee. This is not fancy hipster stuff, but neither is it cheap "I just need caffeine and I need it now, I don't care how bad it tastes" bulk coffee that the office used to supply me with. It tastes great, and brews well in my cheap $15 Mr. Coffee machine. I don't think I've gone through a single workday morning without a few cups of this stuff; it's definitely the highlight of having to wake up so early in the morning. A true, great-tasting workhorse. One thing I do, though, to try to preserve freshness is buy some of those rubber-sealed glass jars to keep the ground coffee in. I think it does make a difference. I've noticed with other brands of coffee that I've bought in the past, the coffee goes from smelling delightful to smelling stale in just a couple of weeks if I don't keep them in sealed containers.
