Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3 [video game]

I'm sure, like many of the reviewers here, my first introduction to this game was on a TV screen with the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is as much fun now as it was then. To those experiencing this game for the first time, (and I know this may make me sound old) you had to be there. At the time, this was the best there was. That may not sound like much now, but you will be saying that yourself in 10 to 15 years about your favorite game that is in retro like this one. While this is not as fun as the "original" Super Mario Brothers, this is still a good play. A couple reviewers have stated this is a "hard" game. Um, the game is not supposed to be easy. It is supposed to challenge you. Deal with it. For me, half the fun is working to beat it. I've had the GBA version of the game for all of 48 hours now, am currently on World 2, and have lost many lives, but am having the time of my life. Yes, some of it is the nostalgia factor, but more of it is the fact that I never actually beat the game when I was younger. So the game shall be beat and the game will like it. As far as I remember, this is the same as the NES with maybe slight revisions to the background. LOL I can't check it out because my NES doesn't work anymore. :-( But if you are into straight-forward gaming, or just want a good old-school game, pick this up and enjoy.

I love Mario and Luigi

As an old NES gamer, I figured the game would stick with the original SFX, at the very least. Its a great game if you don't feel like hauling your laptop or your clunkily ancient NES system around, but for me, it was a little unexpected. The game's saving system is really akward, and I have yet to fully understand it. However, it is a good game to have for the Advance in that its a classic and just rocks in general. The NES mario games made video game history, and will always be around. From the shipping standpoint, it came with a case, but no box. I prefer that in the fact that its less weight i have to pay shipping for and it's a smaller package. It arrived in a timely fashion and was in pretty much perfect condition. There is a screen in the front that says something about a data corruption, yet it states that everything is ok. I don't know if that's just part of the game or if thats just me. Anyhow, great buy. Thanks for giving me my memories back!

I was a little skeptical ordering a used game. I was pleasantly surprised that it was in very good condition just like it said it was. It works perfectly and I will but more games from this seller.

I got my first Gameboy at age 25. I've always wanted one, and now I have one (yay, me!). I wanted a Mario game for it, and this one had a 9.5 rating on IGN, so I bought it. I'm really bad at it, but I have lots of fun playing. It's great fun, and I think that anyone looking for some old school fun should definitely get this game. It has all the nostalgic charm of Mario, and it's a lot cheaper than buying $60 games for a console. Plus, it's portable! The only thing I really will say is that the Gameboy Advance is not back-lit, so I think that some of the graphical fun of this game is wasted due to that. I was fortunate enough to play this on the nes as my brother had one. I remember being with my sister and brother in the parlour late at night, being glued and trying to complete the game in one go. I also remember being annoyed when i had to keep blowing in the nes and game to make it work for 20 minutes at a time. Finally, there is a god and it had been brought out on GBA. I must have played this game at least 100 times when i was younger and just discovered it on gba. I loved the colours and graphics and the music of the nes and still remember it like i was playing it now. I can not wait to get this game (i paid £20 for it but hopefully it will be worth it, going by my old memories and reviews!) and hope it will come soon. Game recently did the greatest game ever poll for all formats and this came in at no.16 (i voted for it!) when it should have been a lot higher, but mario was crowned as the best game icon ever (with some people confessing they actually fancied mario!). So, if you are a kid (or an adult who han't grown up yet like me!) or those who were never fortunate enough to have a nes, then do yourself a favour and please buy this game (or buy the nes and the original if you have a few quid!) as the box speaks for itself- eye catching, exciting and very fun to play!!! You have to play it to feel the joy that millions have felt, and much better than most of the games out today (exceptions being other mario games and sonic). It will be worth every penny, plus you can play it in the ds, which is why i bought it! The only way you you can understand how fantastic it is if you play it. It may be a hard game to find with everything, but worth it- it will be the best game you will ever buy.

Even after all these years, this game is still wonderfully fun. It's expansive and wonderfully creative in comparison to the video games of today that seem to recycle the same tropes, challenges and visuals. This is always what I imagined phone games would become, instead of crappy games riddled with micro transactions that pray on the psychology of its players. Super Mario Bros. 3 was designed as a game for you to have fun with and not indulge in an addiction. Anyways, please by this game if you have the means to play it. No one will likely read this review but, for the few that do, I really do hope you pick up this classic while they still exist.
