Nite Ize S-Biner MicroLock Stainless Steel - Micro-Sized Dual Carabiner for Keys, Pet Tags & Small Accessories - Center Locking Lever - Twist-to-Lock

I love these things. And they also seem like a good deal, compared to all the other carabiner-type things I have had occasion to buy. The first thing to understand is that the length of these, longways, is barely longer than a regular-sized keyring. They are also as thin as could reasonably be imagined, so they don't create overmuch clunkiness on a keyring. The lock is a bonus, which adds value if you are securing an item you are afraid of losing. This is excellent for an item you both need to be ring-free--easily--and able to be detached, with carabiner, from the keyring for securing to something else. The little o-light mini in the attached picture is an example. Most of the time I'm detaching it with the carabiner. But in order to charge this particular light, I have to remove it from the carabiner so it can be plugged in. This makes that much more effortless than going through the keyring removal process. All in all, I can imagine many application for this little carabiner s-ring, and I would highly recommend it for anything else you can dream up.

These are very handy little carabiner clips. I initially purchased a set of two Size #1 S-Biners as part of several different items I wanted to try out along with several other products in my search for the most suitable combination of rings and clips to organize my keys, and I've since added a selection of these S-Biners for various uses. What I've learned is that Nite Ize produces these S-Biners in various sizes and materials and finishes, each suitable for certain purposes. They're all well made, and in my opinion they are all a good value. I particularly like the locking models that are also available, both this small MicroLock size, and the larger SlideLock(see the models at the bottom of the listing below). This locking style S-Biner is particularly useful since it reduces the chance that something attached using this clip will become accidentally released, which is something I've had happen when using the non-locking style slip. This particular locking S-Biner is only available in the very small size, so for someone who wants the locking feature then the other locking style should also be considered since it's available in two larger sizes. After going through a mini research project of my own in order to both determine the relevant dimensions of the various sizes, as well as find the best listings for them on Amazon, here is a guide to simplify this process for others. I bought a bunch of these to use as locks on my tech/carry-on backpack. The zipper-pulls and fabric leashes that came with the bag weren’t great and I wanted to have something larger than just the little, metal zipper pulls to grab on to. The great thing about these is that you can twist the little plastic piece in the middle to lock both sides of the clip. I always have my backpack within reach, so I don’t feel that I need real, luggage-locks. I just want to be able to deter an opportunist or feel if a thief is trying to get into one of the pockets while I’m wearing the bag; or to slow them down enough that I notice the activity if the bag is in the seat next to me at the airport. It would be impossible for someone to get into my bag without me noticing when I have the two zipper-pulls on each pocket linked and locked together with one of these. When I took a trip last year, I had a spare one on my bag that I left on for the hell of it. I found the spare to be really useful because I was staying with family and managed to use the spare to replace the zipper-pull on my mom’s much loved winter coat. She called me after I got back and acted like I had performed an incredible feat of engineering. She was so thankful that I fixed her coat! I never thought of that as a potential use when I bought these things, but she sure appreciated it. Why she didn’t just take the coat to a dry-cleaner/tailor to get the zipper fixed, I have no idea. A really, really heavy duty paper clip probably would have worked, too, but this is MUCH stronger. She still has it on the coat. I just ordered a couple more because they’re the only thing I can think of that meets my current needs while upgrading my work and personal keychains. I keep multiple keys, a flashlight, a multi-tool, and a couple of other things on each. No alternative really matches the security of these for that purpose. I tried some one-way release-rings, some lobster claw clasps, etc. The only ones that were small enough to use for my keychains kept getting pushed open in my pockets and I’d lose things. The only other alternative is using more split rings, but then you cannot remove the item from your keychain at all! I spent a few weeks wasting money and time on finding alternatives but they were all either too big or the items came off on their own. Check out a pair of these and see if they solve your problem. You might be surprised how helpful they can be in unexpected ways.

I ordered the to use on my dog's collars and harnesses to attach their tags and lights to. And I have to say they work pretty dang well. I kept having to replace the key-chain style rings every couple of months because my dogs are big rough-housers and between the gnawing and wresting the rings would eventually get snagged and stretched out. We've lost a few name tags along the way! I finally decided to try something different. I bought 2 sets of these. I use one that I attached to the loop on the back of their harness which has a backup name tag in case their collar comes off for some reason, and I have the other one attached to their neck collar which holds their rabies/license tags. Although these locks are small they fit perfectly onto the large D-ring of their collars [so much easier than getting those keychain ones open]. The black is very simple and sleek, blends right in with their gear so you hardly see it at all. We live on the beach so these have been exposed to lots of sand and salt-water, not to mention the sharp end of dog's teeth, and they still look brand new. The only thing that kept me from giving it a full 5-stars is that twice I have noticed that the little latch had come out of place leaving the carabiner essentially open for things to fall off of. I won't rag on that issue too much, since I'm sure they weren't designed with the intent to be chewed on by playmates, but it is still something. Don't get me wrong, I would definitely buy these again in the future when we need them and honestly might just buy some silver ones to use on my actual car keyring. Definitely a great product!

These are sturdy and secure s-biners. They are a good size to hold my keys. They are easy to lock and unlock. Great value for the money!

I'm not sure why, but these little guys give me more satisfaction than they should. I recently had my earbuds clipped to my bag and thought I'd lost them when the cheapo carabiner that came with the aftermarket case I bought for them failed. Luckily, I found them and rather than go through that again I got these little gems and now my worries are over! They are very secure and they lock, so no surprises. They also fit my car's key fob, so great when leaving it at the shop. Not sure how long the iridescent finish will last, but I'm enjoying while it does. I really like the size as well, perfect for small stuff that needs to be swapped out but remain secure.

The perfect size to attach my IFAK to the headrest of the passenger seat so I can reach if needed. High quality is needed for this application. Failure is not an option.

It’s small and compact and does a decent job of locking it. Although the build quality seems only OK and with enough force it may break or bend.

It’s a bit on the pricey side for such an item, but there’s no denying the practicality, quality, durability and versatility of these micro S-biners by NiteIze. These are a more affordable and practical solution compared to magnetic attachment options. Great for clipping all sorts of things together like keys, zipper pulls, lanyards, etc. I don’t find the locking mechanism super necessary for my needs, but this feature does offer extra security when needed. It’s just a genuinely good product.
