Cuts well but not on lower settings
This cutter cuts well but doesn't start to get hot until the dial is set to 5 or above, at setting 5 it starts to hum and buzz and the blade starts to get hot. So I cannot says that it is working to my expectations, however at dial setting 5 and above it gets plenty hot an cuts webbing nicely, but don't expect it to be very adjustable. Maybe my unit is an exception to the rule, but I saw one other review with the same issue.

best hotknife for hobbyist
got this to add sleeves to custom wires in my new PC build. Needed to add sleeves without frayed ends that always was a problem until I got this bench top hot knife. Heated up quickly and cutting my sleeves was effortless and fast. End result was professional look to my custom wires for all my fans and LED lighting. Bench top model was my preferred method and could not be more pleased with end result. Also used for cutting some nylon rope to avoid burning the ends with a flame to stop fraying.

Useless dial. Loud. Well built.
Appears solid. Good blade length. Dial is useless. A bit wobbly Still finger cold on 5-6 after 10min then suddenly hot at 7. No real variability. Buzzes/huns quite loudly.
