Absolute best pencil sharpener ever.
I don't think there's a hand sharpener available that does a better job than this one. It makes perfect points to draw with, and you can choose a little more blunt or delicately sharp. You can use this to sharpen leads from a lead holder to perfect points and this does a far better job than the messy Staedtler Barrel sharpener. It comes with replacement blades which are so easily swapped out.The downsides of this sharpener is the plastic hinged door wears out over time and eventually breaks. I have taped them down in the past. It does last pretty long, I'm talking a year or two with near daily use, and the door can certainly be replaced, but I have not been able to source replacement doors, and it's just cheaper and convenient to purchase a new sharpener. One other extremely nominal bit of feedback to give is I miss the old matchbox style case for it. I have been reusing the older case for years since they changed it.

Quality Product
I purchased this item based on suggestions from several acquaintances. There is not much to say other than the product is excellent, one of the best pencil sharpeners I have ever used. The two sharpeners are perfect for crafting the pencil exactly how you want. I have yet to use the mechanical pencil lead sharpener, but I do not use mechanical pencils, so that will probably stay unused. The device works great and I suggest it to anyone, it is cheap and well put together.

Great for Blackwing 602
Awesome pencil sharpener and is the best one I've used for Blackwing pencils that isn't made by Blackwing. Great price, great sharpener. I dont use colored pencils, just Blackwing 602's and they write great after sharpening with this.

I absolutely love it! After watching Youtube reviews and reading reviews
I absolutely love it! After watching Youtube reviews and reading reviews, I decided to purchase 2. I am definitely happy with the purchase. I only spent a little over $8 each, and I have spent WELL OVER the 17 total for two on buying sharpener after sharpener to try to get a decent point. If you are using pencils for art, these are especially great. The #1 side sharpens the wood off from around the lead, and the #2 side sharpens just the lead. I've seen reviews where people mention that it makes a great sharpener for "two different sizes" but that is not the point of this sharpener. (No pun intended, but enjoyed!) I've also seen a review where the person asked when to know when to stop turning the pencil, I think, on the wood side. So FYI to those who want to know, if you look in the sharpener and see where it says "STOP", that is how far you can let the pencil sharpen to until the lead hits that ledge. But you don't have to if you don't want to - you will still get a sharp point when you use the #2 side to sharpen the lead. I generally sharpen almost to the stop point on the wood and then sharpen on the lead side until I feel it starting to sharpen the wood on that side. I want #2 blade saved for the leads only.Just a side note, of course I tried this on my "cheaper" colored pencils first, before sharpening my more expensive ones. I used Crayola pencils as my cheap ones (they are cheap) and I didn't expect the wood to be as smooth as it is, but this sharpener sharpened the wood very smoothly with no catches. Then I tried it on my Prismacolor Col-Erase pencils, which tend to have wood that catches in a sharpener, and even those sharpened smoothly on the wood! You have to be gentle when sharpening the lead of them, but it performed fine on that as well. Then on to my actual art pencils of wax and oil, and these sharpened beautifully! All in all, I believe this to be a wonderful sharpener and well worth the cost, which, mind you, includes the additional two lead point sharpeners and the 2 extra blades - for a total of 4 sharpening areas and 2 extra blades for the main sharpeners. As long as you understand how to use this great sharpener, it is awesome! And if you don't understand, just look it up on Youtube.(I do understand any anger some people might have over getting a lemon, but that chance happens with any product you get, unfortunately, like the Derwent battery operated sharpener I got because other people told me it was good. Mine was not. I should have returned it and didn't. That is on me.)

Works as advertised
This little sharpener produces a nice long point with a needle sharp tip. Worked perfectly on Staedtler Lumographs, Faber-Castells, Generals, and an assortment of other random cheapie pencils I tried it on. The only pencil I couldn't get it to properly sharpen was a Prismacolor Ebony, which has an abnormally large lead diameter. That *may* be due to user error, but I doubt it. As others have stated, the compartment that holds the shavings is small, so it fills up fast. Another thing of note is that the lid covering said compartment has a hinge which is just thin, flexible plastic. After many openings and closings, I suspect this hinge will break. That'll be years down the road (if it ever happens at all). Came with a couple spare blades. It was a little pricey for a hand-held sharpener, but the blades look to be a cut above your typical sharpener. I'm satisfied with its performance.

Great for travel art kit
I like to use both normal sketching pencils as well as 2mm lead holders. I keep both in my travel backpack. Previously I had to keep 2 sharpeners in there to accommodate both sizes, but this sharpener replaces both of them, so it's a 5-star winner just on the convenience. That said, it's also a great sharpener. Blades do a great job getting nice tips for drawing, and the mess is securely contained until I'm near a trash. I like the 2-stage tip created for normal pencils in particular, while the 2mm tip has a good taper too.

Excellent over-engineered German sharpener
Like I say, it’s over engineered. But it’s a great sharpener. One hole for the barrel of the pencil and another takes care of the point. Extra 2mm sharpener holes on the sides for pencil/graphite leads. Very sharp blades. Includes two extra blades stored within the sharpener. It’s a bulky item so you likely won’t be carrying this around in your pocket
