Very effective for outdoor antenna work, and for color coding cables.
Always on hand in my ham shack and laboratory for the purposes in the title. Brushes on quickly and smoothly, dries to handle in a relatively short time, and completely weather ready overnight. No failures here in any Texas weather from desert heat to panhandle snow and ice to hurricanes at the coast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent for Sealing and Protecting Electrical Connections!
The Gardner Bender Liquid Electrical Tape is a fantastic product for anyone needing a reliable way to seal and protect electrical connections. I’ve used this on a few of my outdoor electrical projects, and it works great for keeping moisture and dirt out. The application is super easy – it’s a liquid formula, so you just brush it on with the included applicator, and it forms a tough, waterproof seal once it dries.

Almost Perfect
I used this stuff after a so called expert shop butchered my car trying to find an electrical problem. They returned my car (after charging me $1700 for trying to find the problem) with multiple cut wires under the dash and a non working radio that was working when I dropped it off, SMH. Anyway, this stuff worked great, almost perfect except for the bottle of in used product dried up and was unusable by the time I needed it again. So basically I only got to use it that one time and I had the top on tight. It may have just been an old bottle or something, but I would definitely buy again and maybe store in a ziplock bag as well to help preserve.

Excellent for repairing wiring harnesses
When diagnosing electrical issues in cars, I prefer to use a piercing tool to poke through wiring insulation so I can connect a multimeter, test light, or oscilloscope. Some people say you should back-probe the connector and that poking insulation is for hacks, but I've run into plenty of instances when back-probing a connector "fixes" a corroded or intermittent connection. Good luck trying to fix the problem when you can't get it to act up. Piercing the insulation means that you have to seal the hole back up, and that's when liquid electrical tape comes in. A quick dab seals the hole in the insulation. Not too long ago I had to use this to repair an engine wiring harness. The insulation had split on several wires in the harness and the conductors were intermittently touching one another, setting all sorts of trouble codes when the signals shorted. I grabbed the liquid electrical tape because the alternative was to cut, solder, and heat-shrink about a dozen wires in a cramped engine compartment. Instead, I cleaned the wiring harness, dabbed liquid electrical tape over each bare conductor, let it dry, and used wire loom and cable ties to secure the harness and keep it from moving. It's been almost a year and I've had zero problems with the wiring harness. This stuff is a life-saver for quick repairs, especially in difficult-to-reach areas.

Lots of Good Uses in Electrical, Radio, Mechanical. Now I want the RED version as well.
Once dried, this stuff is a pretty darn good, rubbery coating. Probably not as insulating as a thick piece of shrink tube, even with several coats, but I doubt anyone is expecting that. More flexible and more liquid than PlastiDip. Dries faster (higher solvent content). End result looks and feels like a good, old fashioned, black rubber extension cord jacket. Just not that uniform, of course. Couple of good uses I've found... Brush it on some any-color wire and it becomes a BLK wire. I used it specifically for separated RED/BLK zip cord. Once you separate it, it seems it's actually two RED wires with one of them coated in something similar to this GB product. If you don't want the resulting RED stripe on the BLK wire, brush a little of this stuff on. If you wrap splices with 33+ tape, give it a final coat with this stuff and the tape won't unwind or unravel. If your shrink wrap is just a little bit too large in diameter for your wire, paint on some of this stuff first to increase the diameter of the wire. Paint this stuff on assembled PL259 and other RF connectors to seal against the elements. If you ever need to remove the connectors, it's simple enough to score the black rubber with a blade, then unscrew the connector. Paint it on exposed bolt threads once you've got a nut threaded on. It'll hold the nut in place and add some weather resistance to the fasteners. Still able to disassemble the parts if needed a day later or a decade later. Just cut or wire brush the black rubbery stuff off.

Most amazing product EVER!
Love this stuff so so much, It's a life saver! I originally got it to use as a rubber like coating for a horse hair whip I was making I needed something to clean up the area where I glued the hair to the whip. This stuff worked beautifully for it. Then I started using it to seal up cracked water buckets from the winter 😱 and now I use it for anything and everything seriously wish there was an option to buy it in a giant tin lmao I want to try to seal the bottom of my bfs boat with this stuff bc I can totally see it working wonders!!! -Dries quick -Isn't too stinky, a little bit but not any worse than other glue or paint products -Multiple coats work best (2-3 ideally) -Covers thick holes/cracks well -Doesn't drip or run -Can seal its lid shut a bit so advise putting a tiny bit of Vaseline along the rim for easy opening

Ideal waterproofing coating for electrical cables
This product was used to seal a repair to an underground electrical to a telephone cable. It was easy to apply (3 coats, 1 day apart) and, so far, no problems after 2 months. Being bright red it was easy to see what parts had been treated.

Works well
I'd heard of this in a few places and decided to try it with my latest project. I purchased both the Black and the Red for 12V applications. It is fairly odorous so use in a ventilated area. I applied liquid relatively thickly so that it was opaque and it takes a little while to dry. It dried to a fairly flexible coating to stranded copper wire, adheres to silicone, cable nicks, other wire insulation and solder joints well. So far the compound has remained in place and has not torn or begun to peel in a couple weeks. I cannot attest to being a water proof coating, how it would stand up in abrasive locations or longevity so use with common sense.
