Ergotron – Notebook Tray – for Laptop, Notebook and Tablet Screens up to 17.3 Inches – Add-on for VESA Monitor Arms

This laptop tray is made of excellent quality and is very durable. It is solid that i move the mounting arm by grabbing this tray yet it doesn't bend at all despite the arm being hard to move or turn. The tray has two rods of steel that are extendable from underneath it to support larger size laptops, the steel rods have rubber hoods where they come in contact with the laptop so it doesn't get scratched. They can also be swiveled to left and right but i am not sure how this supposed to be helpful? I guess maybe to give you option to move it in case if they remain straight down the support end may block a port at the front of the laptop, thats my only explanation. To add to the excellent quality, they throw in an adapter if your mounting arm is larger than the standard VISA size for the screws. Also they throw in extra rubber hoods and velcro stripes of two different sizes if you want extra assurance that your laptop wont fall off the tray! I like its quality and the extra throw ins and how well they thought about its design although it is a simple product. It is worth its price, don't think twice.

This I purchased as a gift for my adult son to use on his rolling work station at home. He purchased a rolling table top work stand, similar to what is used by the medical professionals/physical therapists. I purchased this as well as the telescoping arm that attached to the table. Now his laptop is up of the table, at eye level which relieves neck strain and also gives him the table surface for paperwork/books. He feels this is really well made, stable and saves space....a perfect solution for what he needed.

I wasn't sure if this would work for my 17-inch laptop, but it does the job just fine. It easily adjusted to fit and is very sturdy. I was initially hesitant when I read a previous review which mentioned that typing caused shaking that made looking at the screen distracting, but I have found this shaking to be extremely minimal and far from distracting, leading me to wonder if the previous reviewer's real issue was a result of whatever support structure the tray was mounted to. I use this tray with my Quad LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Heavy Duty Fully Adjustable fits 4 /Four Screens up to 27" ~ (by VIVO) (another product I highly recommend for the price). I am writing this review after just ordering my second mount tray which I will be using for a second laptop on the quad mount. If you are like me and the high-end options are out of your price range, I can assure you that although this tray is not fancy, it certainly does the job. If I had to think of a complaint, you might find it rotates a little too easily when you rest your hands on top of laptop... but after tightening it (and I mean really use some elbow grease) using an alan wrench it will stay put. I have not had to re-tighten since the initial setup and that was nearly 6 months ago.

A lot of laptop stands these days are big, complicated affairs with fans and USB ports. For those of us with an LX-series monitor arm, this is a simple way to hold your laptop at a nice, comfortable level for extended reading or typing. Mine currently sits to the left of my monitor array for coding or working on a friend's machine. If you're the "tech guy" in your group of friends, this and an LX-series arm is a must have for laptop work. Packaging was simple and arranged logically. Took me about 5 or 10 minutes to have it out of the box and assembled. Mounting to the LX-arm was simple enough, with 4 screws fixing the stand to the arm. You'll want to adjust the arm's tension to match the weight of your laptop, which can be tedious sometimes. However, with a docking station or regular-use laptop, this will be a one-time adjustment. That actually brings me to my only gripe with this product. In the box, there's a set of clips that are supposed to hold down docking stations along with a set of 4 x Velcro strips. However, the Velcro strips have plenty of strength to hold down the station during docking and un-docking. The clips are something of a tedious exercise to add, and I'm not sure why they're included when the Velcro works fine. I suppose this is a little "over-engineering", but it's nothing worth docking a star over. If you have an LX-series arm with nothing to do, buy this stand. If you need a reliable, flexible laptop stand that you can bolt to your desk, grab this and an LX-series arm. Once you start using these Ergotron products, you won't go back.

I'm pretty underwhelmed by this "laptop tray" It lacks a serious means to ensure the laptop doesn't fall off the tray if you want to be able to easily take the laptop off the tray and put it back on again quickly later. This is not much more than a tray that comes with some wire hooks to hold the laptop on, if one of these is true 1) you are using the right sort of docking station 2) you keep the laptop closed 3) there is a lot of space between the display and the base, enough to fit these wire hooks through I'm serious about the wire hooks. They look like giant repurposed paper clips. They hook to the back of the tray where the arm attaches and then are meant to overlap the top of the back of the laptop or docking station. That is the sole method provided to really prevent a laptop from falling off other than tray itself. But since the monitor mount can still rotate 360 degrees, it's pretty easy to tip the tray over so gravity stops being your friend. The hooks work well enough if you have a docking station that strongly attaches to the laptop from behind. Or if you don't mind leaving the laptop closed. Or if you have a decent gap between the display and the base and no hinges in wrong location to prevent threading the hooks through that gap. I included 2 pictures of the hi-tech attachment solution and 1 showing where the hooks attach to the tray This will work for some people but not for heavy laptops or ones like the one I have without a straight gap.

I've been looking for a way to mount a tablet/laptop to the wall in our warehouse so we can lookup locations of specific items. Unfortunately, nothing really seemed to work very well. Fortunately, I came across this notebook tray - and it works perfectly for our needs. In order to get this mounted to the wall, I used the Ergotron LX Wall Mount LCD Arm . It only took a few minutes to anchor the arm to the wall - and then this notebook tray mounted directly to it. This combination is extremely sturdy, and still gives the option of allowing the laptop to be easily moved around when we're running a full inventory. It's also nice to be able to reposition it when necessary. Overall, I would highly recommend this product if you need to mount a laptop to the wall for any reason. It's easy to use and very solid compared to the other methods I tried.

Such a simple solution. Loved that this fit on any VESA mount arm. I already had a nice 4 monitor arm, and ended up with a nice new laptop for work to use at home. I also did not yet have a 4th monitor. When I first stuck it on, it put my laptop screen too high so I just used the top to screw holes of the mount and the bottom 2 of my arm, and it worked great. The height was perfect, and its solid as a rock. The laptop is very light, so I am not worried about stress

Purchased the adjustable arm and then this attachment for my sony vaio 18.4 inch laptop. Not only does the arm and attachment combo easily accommodate my laptop - what they do not highlight is that along with this attachment - they include very nice non-slip wide strips that you manually adhere to the attachment so that your computer does not slide (and they do a great job). They also include Velcro strips that you can adhere to the bottom of your laptop and then apply to the attachment as well. With that being said - the little adjustable arms that come out to hold the laptop (and they adjust easily and without any issues) could have been made out of a little nice material. It is worth noting that I use an external keyboard and elevate my laptop - this stand/attachment is not for use if you are going to be typing directly on the laptop keyboard - I say that because the laptop will jiggle with every keystroke - never falling off, but it will give you a headache to try to watch the screen as it vibrates with every keystroke. Overall - I am extremely pleased with this attachment - I went into it originally intending to use the desk mount with a monitor and then just decided to keep my laptop as the monitor. Works perfectly.

Solidly built. I already had a Ergotron arm so I knew to expect the same industrial-robot type sturdy design. If you try to hold a monitor or laptop on the end of a 60cm long lever by the end of the lever you appreciate the need for strong materials. This was easily installed on an lx arm. The plate from the arm extends a bit beyond the plate on the tray, which doesn’t look as good as it could but it doesn’t interfere with the function. It holds the laptop well. For a modest investment I now have effectively both a standing desk and a way to display my laptop and external display side by side. This is welcome under current work-from-home conditions! For scale, the images show a 13 inch laptop, 24 inch monitor, and two lx arms with the normal length pole.

Da mein Laptop am Schreibtisch immer an externen Monitoren angeschlossen ist, habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, das Laptop weg von der Schreibtisch Oberfläche zu bekommen. Das Laptop steht völlig sicher und wackelfrei auf einem separaten Arm von Ergotron. Für ein ständiges hin- und her bewegen ist das meiner Meinung nach nicht geeignet. Funktioniert aber, wenn man sich angewöhnt, nicht am Laptop zu ziehen oder zu drücken, sondern immer den gesamten Arm.
