Looks good upon completion.The bad:Pretty much everything else. I order the onyx kit. You cannot get any type of liquid on the counter or it will cause the clearcoat to cloud. With 4 kids and a wife who acts like a kid, my countertops lasted a few weeks before looking a hot mess. I'm not sure why company would release a project for a kitchen and it not be somewhat water resistant. I read somewhere that rinsing with vinegar is supposed to fix that, but it did not work. I was very disappointed at first because it is very very dark, Jet Black is what I ordered & that's what it is.The more you sand the dry black paint with the FINE grit paper the smoother it gets. (Only use the Fine on final black coat)BUT, you risk sanding all the way through the paint and exposing the old counter. So I decided to be cautious and Sand just enough that the white speckles come through - The more you sand the more white speckles you will have. The light sanding I did showed uniform white speckles but it IS a rough counter top. Go slow and take your time is my advice. Read the instructions and follow them to a T. I would not say this product is super easy but if you cannot afford new countertops this is a creative alternative to having a new kitchen countertop. Once I put all my black appliances back on the counter and with my black refrigerator,stove and oven it looks pretty good. Especially since my cabinets are a very beautiful 'artist gray' paint color. The stone paint does not smell but the last clearcoat does outgas some. Also, DO NOT over stir the final clear coat or you will get bubbles which you absolutely do not want when you roll it on.
