W500 Drop Box

Very nice drop box, very well built.

Installed this Wall mounted Locking Drop Box for use at a Community Clubhouse to provide a secure deposit box for neighbors to leave private documents, no cash. The box is heavy, well made and has a weatherproof finish to stand up to the elements. The location chosen was under an entrance portico therefore there will be no direct exposure to rain. Mounting was fairly simple although the two upper mounting screws (lag screws with 3/8 inch hex head) are somewhat tricky to tighten because they fall under the lip of the input slot. Once all four lag screws are tightened, into a solid wood structure the box feels very secure and would take significant force to wrench it from the wall. Four expansion bolts are also provided for mounting in concrete. I am very satisfied with the purchase and look forward to years of service from the dropbox.

We purchased this drop box to use at our storage units. The metal is of good thickness and I appreciate the powder coating to help prevent rust. It has gotten some scratches already, but maybe the block guy did it. We had it encased and added an additional lock in effort to make it more secure. I choose this box because it has the anti-fishing 'teeth' where items are deposited. It also seemed to be a good value at $70. Even with the block cap above it, it does still get some water inside, but it has been heavy rains lately.

I bought this for one of my for Plex apartments. I mounted on the exterior brick wall for my tenants to drop their rent in. It is heavy-duty and works great! Big enough for keys and larger items. Small paper items like a personal check may get hung up in the drop box mechanism. I make them all put it in a envelope which goes down just fine.

Really impressed. This is solid quality and is very heavy. They do give you good hardware, concrete screws included to mount this up. Really really impressed.

This box is sturdy and looks great. Here is the flaw as others have stated. The box is designed to install your screws on the wall, then hang the box on them, and two additional lags reachable with the door open. Once hung, you cannot reach these screws again. The problem is, when you drop a letter in the box, it does not fall due to those screws you hung it on. So I drilled additional holes and mounted the bolts where I could reach them and they did not interfere with the envelope dropping. The bolts they supplied, the heads were too big for the mounting holes. They should provide two screws, that are pan-head, with a head that will fit through the mounting hole, instead of the hex head. A person could put tape over the heads would probably help if you did not want to drill more holes.

It is perfect for what I needed it: to collect rent. It went up with no issues and it feels very secure.

Installed easily and lots of room for mail. Chose to use flat washer with screws on inside top of box rather than the provided rounded screw heads (mail gets stuck on it). Great response from company to order extra keys.
