Good question!

We are unsure if this is the battery required for your PCX550 wireless headset.  From the manual for the Sennheiser PCX550, "the rechargeable battery must only be replaced by an authorized Sennheiser service center."  This usually means the battery is hard-wired into the headset and not accessible for replacement without service help.  This also means we are unsure which battery would replace it.  This battery would most likely have to come directly from a Sennheiser service center.

I expect it will depend on how much you use the headset, since the battery life would likely be affected by charge/discharge cycles.  I've had my headset for more than 3 years and the original battery still seems fine.  In fact, I thought it was going bad several months ago, but there was something on the charging contacts that was preventing the battery from charging completely, and cleaning the contacts seems to have taken care of it.  My headset gets moderate use only.  I don't know how long a single charge lasts.  My longest calls are about 2 hours, and the charging status bars typically show 2/4 at that point.
