I purchased the 12ga, 16ga, and 20ga sets to fit the 8-32 thread pull through cable. All the brushes are short in length, only about 1.25 inch. All the bronze brush bristles are stiff, fit the barrel well, and do what they are supposed to do. All the nylon brush bristles are very flimsy/not stiff and little or no friction is felt when running them through a barrel...useless. So my purchase was basically for 3 expensive bronze brushes and 3 useless nylon brushes. For comparison, a Hoppes nylon brush for shotguns is about 2" long, very stiff, and fits a barrel well. The problem there is most shotgun rod/brush threads, to include Hoppes, are 5/16-27. My solution is to get a 8-32 thread to 5/16-27 thread adapter to fit the cable and use Hoppes/other brands of standard thread brushes.
