They are not very sharp. Their ad said they would not ""back out" of the cut due to dull or flimsy blade". This is not true. I found that when trimming fingernails (after shower while nails are soft) they pretty much tear the nails leaving a rough edge that needs to be filed. I was going to return them but was past the 30 return period. The scissors come with two extras: a PVC pouch with a "zip" closure and and soft plastic cap that attaches to the end of the blades. The pouch is 6" x 3.75" and can fit some other small items in it in addition to the nail scissors. I put a couple of cotton squares and a mini nail file along with the scissors and am still able to close it. These scissors are very different than my old ones. These nail scissors have more heft and are slightly thicker than any I've owned in the past. The scissors are about 3.75" in length and the blades are slightly curved. The metal is not shiny; it is a brushed finish. I find these work on both fingernails and toenails. These scissors are much more precise than nail clippers in my opinion. I am left handed and although these are not specifically made for lefties, I haven't had any difficulty using these. In fact, because these are a little bit bigger than my old pair, I am having an easier time cutting my nails. (See picture with old scissors on left, these scissors on the right) And lastly, these scissors are a great price in comparison to other professional grade nail scissors that I've seen. I did receive these at a discount in return for an honest review but I would buy these at the regular price. These are PERFECT!!! The picture doesn't show the curved end very well but these are terrific.
