Excellent Upgrade
I love these Pure Tone output jacks - I’ve installed them on multiple guitars, and they make a big difference. They hold the cable jack much more securely, with a solid, stable connection every time. They fit perfectly in Firefly Les Pauls and are easy to wire in. Great quality, reliable performance, and well worth the upgrade.

This should be the industry standard. Even on cheap gear.
I just resurrected a 90's BC Rich Warlock Bass (Platinum) using this jack, and a new jack plate. The wiring was done terribly on the original, and the original jack was just a single point of contact, generic junker you see in basically all basses and guitars. This thing was easy to solder, fit perfectly in the pre-existing jack port route, and makes absolutely zero noise plugging in. The connection is tight, and secure, and pulling this out accidentally is going to be a challenge!! For such a small price, and such a massive improvement, these things should be the new 'standard' for your gear. Soldering is cheap and easy. This jack is cheap and easy, and superior. I will now be replacing all of my gear with this jack. Unreal.

Amazing and affordable
This is just a flat out great product and at a great price, I will be replacing all my output jacks eventually with this one, very secure won’t come out accidentally and several points of contact instead of one.And easy to install

Improvement for OEM Fender guitar jack
The 5 year old OEM jack on my Fender bass guitar was crackling. Upon inspection, the nickel finish on tab was worn away where it was contacted by the tip of the guitar cable plug. I bent the tab inwards to ensure a tighter connection, but with no improvement. So I found this Pure Tone replacement jack and was impressed that they had improved upon the standard mono plug design. So I replaced my old, worn out jack with a Pure Tone. I’ve included photos of the old jack next to the new one. As you can see, the plug tip contacts only one point on the old jack - you can see where the nickel coating has worn away at the point of contact. By contrast, the new jack has two opposing contact points for the plug tip, thus ‘locking in’ the plug tip. Also, the plug barrel (ground) on the old jack merely contacts the body of the jack - nothing locks it in place. By contrast, the Pure Tone has two additional tabs which grip the barrel of the plug and hold it firmly. As Pure Tone says, their jack has 4 contact points, instead of 1. You can feel the difference when plugging or unplugging your guitar cable. Instead of a quick slide and single click when you plug in, with the Pure Tone there are two clicks - one as the tip passes through the 2 short (ground) tabs and the second click as the tip is secured by the 2 long tabs. The materials and build quality appear as good, possibly better, than the OEM Fender jack. The body of the Pure Tone is the same diameter as the old jack, but overall the Pure Tone is a bit shorter and therefore more compact. I can’t imagine any difficulty with fit in a replacement situation. The solder flowed and nicely adhered to the electric contact tabs. The Pure Tone comes with a nut, a washer, and a 2nd nut for adjusting mounting height and locking the device to the mounting surface (in my case, the pick guard.) There is no lock washer. I’m not sure a lock washer is needed, but I re-used the old one just to be cautious. While as yet, I have no long term experience with this device, I was impressed with the quality and the upgraded design. The Pure Tone device does create a significantly more secure attachment for the guitar cable. Considering the importance of this particular connection, spending a extra buck or two is a worthy investment.

Works, easy to install if you have the skills
Replaced a jack in an old Peavey for my kiddo and works great. It's a basic jack, not much more to say about it other than it works!

Its a BIG jack
I bought this input jack to use in a 2008 ESP LTD EC-50 - its a Les Paul single-cut style guitar with the input jack opening flush to the side of the body. No question that it is a durable, quality input jack and I love the subtle transparent black color - this is the primary reason that I bought it. I did consider the quality aspect, but it was mostly the color that drew me to it since the guitar I bought it for is all black. It works pretty well too - it almost has like a double lock feel to it when you plug in the cable. It has a quality "grab" to it and requires some effort to plug in and unplug the cable, which is also what I would expect. I had/have two issues with this jack; Its REALLY big and bulky and just barely fits in the input jack cavity hole. In fact, I am still having an issue with a short of some sort if pressure is applied to one side of the input plug on the cable; like the jack is pressing against the cavity wall shielding. The other issue is that you will need to rough the surface of the soldering points for an optimal soldering experience. This thing is big and busy as you can see by the picture(s). I had to solder the hot and ground for the pickups and the hot and ground for a kill switch. Not only was it super tight space I had to work in between all the prongs of the input jack itself (outside of the body), but it was a nightmare getting the solder to weld to the surface based on an inability to solder to the bare metal connection points on the input jack. I had to scratch the whole thing up with a tiny flathead screw driver with a piece of sandpaper taped over the end of it. It was very frustrating. Overall, I am happy with it but if I'm being honest, its still the color that was the reason I bought it and worked with it as long as I did to make it work. Otherwise, I would have just used a Switchcraft or AllParts input jack. Input Jacks aren't magic...as long as they are not made with cheap, thin metal, the connection prong is not bent out of sorts and the solder work is adequate, pretty much anything will do. I'm not sure if I would buy it again or not (unless I needed one that is black, then I would for sure). It's reasonably priced and it is a quality part, but there are so many other options that I have used that are similarly priced and so much easier to work with.

I bought this thinking I could fit them in my bass guitars which have active preamps... they don't work in them. These are only for Passive instruments. Having said that, the build quality on these is amazing. If you have passive instruments, I highly recommend them.

These are amazing. Swapping out all my old, loose guitar outputs with these. I don't wire the extra contacts, just use them to hold the cable more secure and keep them from wearing out as fast. Makes for a SOLID connection. Highly recommend.
